Cassie sat next to the knight Russell and listened to his story. She felt bad that he lost his settlement but she admired his hope in that one day he would be reunited with his brother and the other knights. She chuckled as he went back into his renaissance voice and when it was his turn to ask questions she let out a heavy sigh and moved a strand of hair out of her face as she began to tell his story. "Well we are all pretty much from Georgia. But before all this I was studying to be a nurse and I was living with my boyfriend Mark. He just left with Mallory who was in the Marines I believe and a few of the bikers. When it first happened I was at work, all hell broke loose me and Mark got out and held up in our apartment for a week. We met with some of the army later on and they turned out to be a bunch of assholes so me and Mark split from them and held up at a gas station. That's when I met Mallory and Troy one of the bikers. It's kind of funny I was ready to shoot Troy on sight but funny enough he talked me out of it. Soon enough I earned their trust and we've all become friends. We ran into some shit and we have lost people along the way but at least we have each other. I'm sure you will find your brother and the other knights. You just have to keep hope alive Sir Russell." said Cassie with a smile.

It was then she saw Warren and a few other bikers walking past them. He just smirked at her and began making cat calls at her. "Goddamn I can't stop picturing you naked. I'll you what if soldier boy can't keep you warm you can always come by my tent. I'll keep you real warm." said Warren as he walked away laughing with a few of the other bikers also laughing. Cassie just looked away from them not wanting to give them any attention. "Some of the bikers here are bad men and some of them are good. It's just...A few weeks ago Mark got into a scuffle with one of them who attacked an old man. The bikers jumped Mark and when Frank the leader of the bikers joined us he took Mark's weapons away and mine as well. But he made me strip in front of the entire camp...It was the most humiliating moment in my life. Jackass took my guns but he said I could keep my machete...Still I can't wait till when they leave. There's been talks that they are heading to Old Orchard Beach after this is all done. I'll tell you what I'm sticking with Mallory, she is a great leader. To be honest she has kept this group together somewhat in my opinion." said Cassie to Russell.

After a short while Mal stopped crying but the grief over her dad was still there, along with feelings of anger and frustration that her mother and sister were captives and that she couldn't do anything about it right now. But she would. Oh, she would. She was going to get her family back and would kill everyone that stood in her way. And Big Dick would pay for killing her father.

After Frank pledged his help Mallory gave him just a nod. It was the only form of thank you she could muster at the moment. She wiped her face on her sleeve before turning to Jake again.

"Who else is with you?" Mal asked. "Why haven't you done anything to free mom and Chloe? You were a Ranger Jake, you could've...!"

Mal stopped mid-sentence. She realized she was blaming Jake for something that wasn't his fault. If there was something to be done, he would've done it already. She buried her hands in her hair, she felt sick and her heart was beating a mile a minute. She tried to still her breathing but God... her dad was dead and her family taken from her. It kept running through her head like a freight train.

"Mal..." Jake said softly. "We have been... trying. Claudia..."

Claudia. Of course she was alive. It's not that Mal didn't want her former best friend to be dead but there were unresolved matters with Claudia that had been going on for almost fifteen years. The night after graduation, pulling a stupid prank that got Claudia caught by police. Mal having to keep silent so her dad could take care of the matter. Never getting a chance to Claudia to explain why she didn't speak up.

Mal felt numb and like the energy was drained out of her. And after finding out the terrible news about her family now there was Claudia to deal with as well. She knew she'd have to eventually but she had hoped it would be in better circumstances. And Mal knew all too well the world going to shit wouldn't keep Claudia from holding a grudge. The chances of her having forgiven Mal in fifteen years time were zero to none. That girl was stubborn as hell.

"Great." Mal sighed. "Why won't this fucking nightmare end?"

"I'm sorry Mal." Jake apologized. "Claudia and I are keeping everyone together as best we can. But there's just too few of us and we don't have that many weapons or ammo. We've been attacking his people here and there but taking him head on..."

Well that was about to change. It's a good thing Mal came bearing gifts. She had the people and the manpower. And a bunch of mean-ass bikers aching for a fight.

"Well then it's a good thing I picked up a few things along the way." Mal said. "People, guns, ammo, medicine... and I just acquired me one helluva lust for blood."

Mal picked up the M14 and dusted it off. Jake gave Mallory a more worried look. He always knew Mallory wasn't one to be trifled with but the way she spoke was ice-cold and what she said concerned him. He figured it to be the shock of hearing what happened to her family and hoped she calmed down some eventually.

"I'll get some guys to help out transferring your people." Jake said. "In the meantime I'll take you guys to camp. I'm sure some people will be happy you're back."

Mallory followed Jake through the woods but mostly walked the entire way alone saying nothing. Her mind was on her family the entire time. Would Chloe even understand what was going on this entire time? And mom... it was likely Big Dick kept her around for medical purposes, keeping Chloe as collateral. Big Dick was a shady character, even as a town councilman and before the world went to shit her dad was pretty close to bringing him down. Maybe that's why Big Dick killed him.

During the trip to the camp Jake explained what had transpired when Big Dick took over, how brutal it was and how it struck fear into the people of Bar Harbor. But he also left out certain details, telling Mallory it was better to speak about it in private. Jake had told Mallory Mikayla was alive too, but that Ryan was murdered by Big Dick's goons. Still, when Mal asked why Mikayla had remained in the town Jake wouldn't answer just yet.

Upon arrival in the camp, Mal hardly got a chance to see any familiar faces when the most familiar of them all came storming at her and shouting.

"What the fuck!" Claudia shouted. "Mallory!"

It appeared it was too much to hope Claudia would be happy to see her return. But then again, it was exactly what Mal expected.

"Aww shit." Mal muttered. "Here we go..."

The sight of Mallory Faraday to Claudia was like a red flag to a bull. In a millisecond Claudia forgot all about what Mal's father had done for her and in what predicament Chloe and Marlene were in. Fifteen years of bottled up rage surfaced and Claudia exploded. Still, deep down she felt a hint of relief that Mallory was alive but at the moment it was buried so deep underneath all the hatred that expressing it wouldn't happen for at least a while.

"Well look who finally decided to fucking show up!" Claudia said. "If it isn't the goddamn Mermaid Princess of Bar Harbor!"

Mal knew what to expect with Claudia and kept her cool. As more people gathered around the two of them to see what was going on, Claudia just got riled up more. Here and there one could hear whispers like 'It's Mallory' or 'It's the other Faraday girl'.

"Hey Claudia." Mal said. She didn't know what else to say and quite frankly, she didn't much care. She just wanted to get this over with.

"Hey Claudia. Hey Claudia!? That all you got to say!?" Claudia answered. "Fifteen years and that's all you gotta say!?"

Mal kept silent. She just didn't have the energy anymore to come up with an answer. She didn't know what to say also. And whatever she said it would probably just make Claudia angrier.

"Answer me you piece of shit!" Claudia said. She then shoved Mallory, causing her to take a step backwards.

"Don't push me Claw." Mal spoke.

"Yeah or what? What are you gonna do huh?"

Claudia pushed Mal again. Once more Mal took a step backwards to not lose her balance.

"I'm not in the mood for this Claudia." Mal spoke. "Say what you wanna say but don't fucking touch me."

Claudia's taunting was taking a toll on Mal's self-control and it was showing. Jake caught up on it and tried to calm things down.

"Guys please." Jake said. "It's been so long, the world has changed, we've all been through a lot. Let's just..."

"Stay out of this Jake!" Claudia shouted. "This is between me and puppy eyes!"

Claudia got in Mal's face but Mal wasn't backing down. Instead she just stared right in Claudia's eyes waiting for her to finish her tantrum.

"Now you show up." Claudia continued. "After all the bad shit that's happened. So when you turning tail and running again huh? Like you did before? First fucking off to the Marine Corps and then to California leaving me to hang high and dry in the mess you created!"

"For fuck's sake Claudia, fifteen years and you haven't figured it out yet?" Mal answered. "I guess I shouldn't be surprised. And why? Because like always you don't think things through!"

"I don't think things through Mal? Well let me tell you that I've thought a long time about this!"

And there it was. First blood. Claudia punched Mal in the face so hard Mal stumbled to the ground. But with Mal in the current state she was in, it proved her point to Claudia. Mal was grief-ridden and it wasn't smart to break through whatever self-control she had left. And Claudia had done just that. Filled with an intense fury, Mal jumped up and charged Claudia, tackling her to the ground. Mal was able to throw a few punches in before Claudia kicked her off.

Jake tried to stop the fight but accidentally got hit by Claudia. Mal paused to look at Jake but before she could reach out to help him Claudia tackled Mal this time around and punched Mal a couple of times in the face. Mal then grabbed Claudia and rolled her over and at this point, Marine Corps training kicked in and Mal held Claudia in a headlock, attempting a bloodchoke to render Claudia unconscious but unfortunately Mal lacked the strength to do so. Still, she had Claudia locked down for the moment.

"My... dad... told... me... to keep quiet... so he could... take care of it!" Mal said as she struggled to keep Claudia in the headlock. "And he did!"

"You were my sister!" Claudia shouted. "We were supposed to protect eachother! You betrayed me!"

"I protected you by shutting up! Get that... through... your thick... skull... Claw!"

Claudia then felt a nearby stick with her hand, grabbed it and hit Mal with it. It was thick enough for Mal to see stars and bells and it loosened her grip on Claudia. Claudia herself was having a brownout from the bloodflow being cutoff in her head. The fight was over, and both girls now lay on the ground panting and recovering. Jake walked over, caressing his painful cheek and kicked both Mallory and Claudia as they lay down. Not to hurt them, but to stimulate them to get up.

"You two fucking idiots done!?" Jake asked. "Or would you like to go for round two and really kill eachother this time!?"

"I... think we're good Jake." Mal said.

"Speak... for yourself Mal." Claudia answered. She tried to get up but got a rush of blood to the head and dropped down again. Jake rolled his eyes and gestured at some of the people around to pick them both up.

"Get these morons to the medical tent!" Jake said. "And cuff them together if you have to! I swear you two will learn to get along again if it kills me!"

While Claudia and Mallory got dragged off to the medical tent, Jake turned to Mallory's companions.

"Hometown drama, nothing out of the ordinary." Jake said. "Please, take a load off by the fire. I'll have someone bring you guys some food. Seems we have a lot to discuss for the future."

Giving Troy, Frank and the others a friendly nod Jake was off to the medical tent to get his cheek looked after and to make sure Claudia and Mallory wouldn't try to hurt eachother again. Oh how good it was to get the old gang together again.

Frank was next to Troy followed behind Cutler and Mark who were all listening to Jake as he explained the events of what transpired before they got there. Frank raised his eyebrows at the surprising details he had heard from Jake. This man Big Dick was almost like Frank in a way expect Frank was more cunning in his own opinion and he could work with other groups for a price of course. When they made it back to Jake's camp that's when all hell broke loose between Mallory and this Claudia person. Seemed like there was definitely some unfinished business between the two still Frank grinned as he watched the fight taking some enjoyment from it while Troy looked worried. The young man took a step forward but was stopped by Frank who put his hand on him grabbing his shoulder. Mark tried but was stopped as he saw an Asian woman grabbed the handle of her sword, Mark backed away and once the fight was over and the girls were dragged off Frank let out a sigh of disappointment. "Damn I was really enjoying that." said Frank with a smirk on his face. When Jake told them that they could rest by the fire and that food would be brought to them Frank nodded still smirking. "Seem like these people know how to teach their guests." thought Frank to himself.

As they sat by the fire and food was brought to them Frank enjoyed the food and was talking to Troy, Cutler and Mark about Old Orchard Beach and what plans he had in store for there but he was interrupted by one of the things he hates most...Religion. He turned around as he heard a family praying before eating. "Bless this food for we are thankful to the Lord and is infinite wisdom. We are thankful for-" said the father before he was interrupted by Frank. "Hey do you want to shut your fucking mouth?" asked Frank loudly to the man behind him. The man continued to pray but was once again interrupted by Frank. "Hey asshole!" said Frank to the man who stopped praying and looked at him. "What's your problem?" asked the man to Frank. "Stop spewing that bullshit it's making me sick." said Frank to the man. The man's son then spoke up. "Don't insult God." said the son to Frank who just looked at him like he was ready for a fight. "Go fuck yourself." said Frank to the son. The son stood up and as he did Frank stood up as well. The son walked up to Frank ready to hit him but Mark stood in the way and looked at the kid. "Let it go walk kid." said Mark to the son who slowly backed away. The father then walked over and looked at Frank. "I'm sorry if we bothered you." said the father to Frank who wiped his mouth before answering. "Fuck you." said Frank in a calm almost casual tone. As soon as he said that the son came back looking for a fight but Troy now stepped in and looked at Frank. "Hey boss just go sit. I'm sure they get the message." said Troy to Frank. He turned to look at the father who nodded and walked away with his son.

As Frank and the others sat back down at their fire Frank just laughed as he had a grin on his face. "Sometimes it pays to be an asshole." said Frank with a grin to his boys. Mark shook his head and got up heading to the medical tent to check on Mallory. He was going to update her on what just happened.

TWO WEEKS LATER

Two weeks of sitting on her ass was enough to drive Mal crazy. She was up to snuff with what happened in Bar Harbor but apart from doing odd jobs around the camp and helping people train she was eating herself from the inside out. Claudia had sent a mute girl to pose as deaf to help Mikayla find out where her family was and it apparently had paid off; Chloe was found but they were still searching for her mother. The sacrifices Mikayla and a girl Mal had never even met were making for her were unbearable. She just wanted to get into Bar Harbor somehow and do it herself. It wasn't that she was ungrateful for it, she just couldn't stand people risking their necks for her.

Mal had already butted heads with Claudia on several occasions, mostly disagreeing with how Claudia treated people. Claudia was giving the camp the 'tough love' treatment but in some situations she went too far. Mal herself was from a different school of thought. Sure, in some situations one had to be strict and blunt but the right amount of encouragement would make people go a long way too. To Mal it seemed Claudia was too keen on pointing out people's weaknesses without encouraging them to be stronger.

At least the situation of the past between the two had been resolved. Claudia had come to terms that Mal didn't speak up on her behalf in the past but there was still a sort of tension between the two, and it would lead to full blown explosions from Claudia whenever the two argued. Claudia always had a temper but the apocalypse had made it truly bad. Still, Mal could tell that Claudia in her own way cared for her people, even if she was going wrong about it.

It was during one of Claudia's training sessions with others that Mal had taken a seat in front of one of the tents, cleaning a rifle but really keeping an eye on Claudia and ready to intervene should she take things too far again. Among the 'trainees' were some of the bikers who appeared to have taken a liking to the 'warrior princess' and would rather come drool over her instead of doing some actual work. She knew Frank was scheming something too, but fortunately Frank was smart enough to know he was outnumbered, and wouldn't even dream of doing something in Bar Harbor. He had pledged his help but somehow, maybe with the help of Troy, Mal hoped he would see benefits in continuing to help the people of Bar Harbor.

As Claudia was about to open up a can of whoopass to one of the trainees again, Mal sighed and put down the rifle. Time to chaperonne.

Left, right, under, up. Claudia was beating the living shit out of another one of the trainees. She was doing the same attack over and over again and was getting frustrating with the fact her opponent wasn't even noticing the routine in her attacks. After she had knocked him down a third time she outed her frustrations.

"Oh my God are you that fucking stupid!?" Claudia shouted. "I am literally doing the same attack over and over again and I keep knocking you down every fucking time! Surely no one can be that dense!"

Claudia glanced over to Mal and could just feel the disapproval. Claudia rolled her eyes. If Mal disapproved, well she wasn't forcing her to watch. But God forbid she'd hurt anyone, then Mal would be right there to coddle them and kiss their boo-boo's.

While Claudia was roughing up another trainee a conversation between the big biker Cutler and another smaller biker called Paco was taking place.

"Betcha I can take her!" Paco spoke.

"Probably a bad idea bro. She looks kinda mean." Cutler answered.

"Bullshit, she can beat up these pipsqueaks yeah but guys like us? No way man!"

"I wouldn't try it dude."

"Fuck that man, I'ma whoop her ass. Show her who's boss."

After teaching yet another trainee a valuable lesson, Claudia went around the people sitting there looking for her next victim.

"Anyone else?" Claudia asked. "Surely by now someone must've picked up on something right?"

True to his word, Paco got up and volunteered. "I'll give you a run for your money baby. What do I get when I win?"

"That's if you win." Claudia answered. "And the answer is your balls."

Some laughter and some "oohs" came from the other bikers present. Cutler just shook his head. Paco pointed at the wooden training sword Claudia was holding.

"Lose the sword sweetheart." Paco said. "Let's do this the right way!"

That wasn't a problem for Claudia. She raised an eyebrow and smirked, tossing the wooden sword to the side. As soon as she had, Paco attacked and punched her straight in the face. Claudia could taste blood in her mouth. It had been a long time since anyone was able to draw blood from her.

"Well color me impressed." Claudia said. "Haven't tasted my own blood in a long time. Guess there might be some hope for you jerkoffs yet."

"Yeah well there's more where that came from baby girl!" Paco said, and then charged Claudia again.

This time however, she was ready for him. She countered his attack and punched him straight in the nose. Enraged, Paco tried hitting her again and she kept deflecting his punches until finally she took advantage of his fatigue to work him to the floor with a swift roll and choking him until he passed out. For a moment everyone was quiet until Cutler spoke again.

"Told him it was a bad idea."

Claudia got up and stretched herself out. "Heh, actually broke a sweat this time. Not bad. Class dismissed."

Cutler got up, rolling his eyes and sighing and went over to the unconscious Paco. He grabbed him by one of legs and dragged him across the ground, passing Mallory on the way to the medical tent.

"Youth nowadays huh?" Cutler said to Mal. "If they're the future, we're all fucked. Better get this hero to Cassie."

Mal couldn't help but chuckle as Cutler passed her by. She then looked to the other side to Claudia and couldn't help but to feel impressed with what she had just done. Claudia herself went in her tent to mend her wounds, wondering if Frank or any of the other bikers would be by to bitch about the guy she just knocked out. If there was, she would go round two with whoever presented himself.

Troy was helping out around the camp like gathering wood or just making sure everyone was okay. Two weeks in the camp and he could see that everyone was still somewhat nervous around the bikers and Troy couldn't blame them. He set down a pile of wood they could use for a fire and he pulled out a cigarette he won from Kurt in a card game. At night to pass the time the bikers would play gamble near the fire and Troy was alright at poker in his opinion. He lit up the cigarette and enjoyed the smoke. He saw the fight between Claudia and Paco and even though Paco was his boy, he wasn't always going to stick up for the fool. He knew that Paco knew the risk he could take his bumps like a man but still it was entertaining. Once the show was over he turned his head as he saw a young girl trying to walk. She limped with every step she nearly tripped but luckly Troy caught her. "Hey Skippy where the hell are you going?" asked Troy casually to the young girl. She regained her balance to her holding onto Troy but she let go of him shortly after. "Claudia told me I shouldn't be favoring my other leg so I'm just trying to get through this." said Maria to Troy who nodded as he took a drag from his cigarette. He turned his head away as to not blow the smoke in her face. "What happened?" asked Troy to Maria who looked down at the ground for a moment and it was then he heard the story about Maria and what had happened to her and her family.

"Damn Skippy...You've been through some shit. Well if anyone here gives you a hard time you come find me alright? Even if it's one of my boys I'll take care of them you got it?" asked Troy casually to Maria who looked at the young biker and smiled. "Sure thank you...Mister?" asked Maria to Troy who chuckled. "You can call me Troy but my friends call me Fox." said Troy to Maria who smiled once again and nodded. "Thank you Fox." said Maria to Troy. He then walked off leaving Maria to be by herself. Troy threw his cigarette on the ground after taking a few more drags and sat next to Mal. "Hey beautiful how's it hanging? Saw Cutler taking Paco to medical...Yeah I'm not worried about Loco he'll be fine. I'll tell you what worries me though is Frank...I'm sure he has something planned going on. Last week he was talking with Warren, Kurt and a few others. Whatever he has planned it isn't going to be good." said Troy to Mallory. He then reached out putting a comforting hand on her shoulder. "How are you holding up with...Everything?" asked Troy. He quickly moved his hand away and let out a chuckle and shook his head. "Sorry about that I'm sure if Jake saw that he wouldn't like that to much. Don't wanna step on anymore toes. I just made amends with Mark a few weeks ago." said Troy half jokingly as he was trying to lighten up the situation. He had heard stories around camp of Mallory and Jake's past relationship. He didn't know if any of it was true and the last thing he wanted was to cause problems between him and this Jake guy.

Cassandra had adjusted to the camp and helped out with any of the injured or sick. She took a look at the children first and that was when she had met Maria Ramirez. She was told what had happened to the little girl and was horrified but still she was impressed that the little girl had not lost hope in seeing her family. She was a fighter for sure and Cassie would keep an eye for her and the other kids. Luckily she found a change of clothes although they might have been to revealing still she didn't mind or care what other people thought she would have worn this outfit back in the day whenever she would go out with her friends. Still that's all it was now just memories. She had just finished checking on Mr.Jones when Cutler brought in an unconscious Paco. She looked shocked at first but when she heard the story all she could do was let out a heavy sigh and shook her head. "Hey big guy you mind placing him on this bed real quick?" asked Cassie to Cutler who had no problem lifting up the young Mexican and placing him on the cot. Cassie gave him a quick look over cleaned up his bloody nose. Luckily for him it wasn't broken but it would be sore for the next couple of days. She looked at Cutler and smiled at the big biker. "Thanks for your help Cutler. I'm going to see Mallory real quick." said Cassie to Cutler as she left the tent. She took off her gloves and set them aside walking over to Mallory and Troy.

"Hey just wanted to give you an update on Paco. He is going to be fine I mean he will be sore but he will be fine none the less." said Cassie to Mallory and Troy. She jumped as she felt someone grab her by the waist she quickly turned around to see that it was Mark and she smiled at him. "Hey babe." said Mark to Cassie followed by a quick kiss. "Any of you guys seen Jake? I need to talk to him about something." asked Mark to the trio. Cassie shook her head and Troy shrugged. "Nah haven't seen Ranger boy anywhere." said Troy to Mark.

Ayako was about to go do some hunting for the camp. She grabbed her bow and her quiver for her arrows and she sighed as she only had about thirteen arrows left. She would have to make more later on but for now she was content with what she had. She was about to leave she changed from her leather jacket to her hunting jacket. underneath her jacket she wore her white tank-top and faded blue jeans along with her black boots. She crossed her arms and smirked as she watched the show with one of the bikers and Claudia. She didn't take a liking to the bikers at all after one of them was bullying a family. Still she wanted to bring the matter to Claudia as she was the leader after all. She had her father's sword tied to her belt loop and she went off to go see Claudia. She entered Claudia's tent and gave a nod to her. "Claudia I wanted to bring a matter to you which has people concerned and it's the bikers. They have been bulling our people now for at least two weeks and the leader of them he's...He's the worst. Still I understand why we need them to fight against Dick and his men. "I'm going hunting and I'm thinking of taking Maria with me. She's been stuck in camp for weeks now I figured it could do her some good to get out and besides I'll be there to keep an eye on her. If that's alright with you? If not I can go out there alone which I've been doing now for weeks." said Ayako casually as she crossed her arms waiting for Claudia to respond. Just then Frank walked in and as he did he looked at Ayako then at Claudia. "Hope I'm not interrupting. I mean if you two need some alone time I can come back later." said Frank to the two of them Ayako just rolled her eyes at Frank and walked past him slightly shoulder checking him in the process. Frank just chuckled and smirked as Ayako left. "Sorry didn't mean to piss off your Jap girlfriend. Anyway I was wondering if we could talk boss to boss, you see I've seen people like you in the past I mean. You're pissed off, angry and you just want to destroy every motherfucker in your way. I get that honestly I was like that when I was young but these people here look to you to lead. Now the way I see you've been doing great hitting his supplies and killing his men but we need to think bigger and the way I see it...We need to use Mallory as bait. Are you following me here Rebel?" asked Frank to Claudia giving her his own personal nickname. See in Frank's mind he had a plan set up and that he was ready to execute it. "You see the plan is simple we have Mallory out in the open and she gets kidnapped but before she does we kill those men and my guys bring her to Dick. Now Dick doesn't know me or my boys so we won't be wearing our colors. I'm assuming that Dick sends a lot of men out on runs so what if we were to just hand Mal over to him? I mean when you think about my boys will be inside they can steal stuff for us or hell maybe kill Dick who knows? I'm just saying it would be good to get a layout of the base. What do you think?" asked Frank to Claudia as he was done explaining his plan to her.

Mal listened to Troy but as far as Paco went, she wasn't too worried. Guy took his lickin' like a champ and the only thing that got really hurt was his ego. Although it didn't seem too much of a disgrace to lose to Claudia in fair fight. Her former BFF had become quite the fierce warrior in her absence, even though her manners still left much to be desired.

Troy asked her how she was and expressed his concern about Frank. And she couldn't disagree, Frank was up to something but luckily was smart enough to know he was outnumbered in the camp. And it appeared Troy wasn't the only biker who disagreed with how Frank ran things. Still, Mal still saw a reasonable guy in Frank and hoped he could be dissuaded from his plans and see the advantages of a long-term relationship with Bar Harbor. This is where civilization would begin anew if she had anything to say about it. It's what her dad would have wanted.

"I'm numb Troy." Mal confessed. "All I want to do is free my mother and sister and kill any bastard who gets in my way. As for Frank... I'm hoping he'll get over this petty survival bullshit by the time all of this over. If he's not... well... seems to me you're gonna have to make a choice."

Mal loved Troy, he was one of the best friends she ever had and nothing would ever change that. But even though she could understand his loyalty to Frank and the gang, the way they were headed under Frank would end up as enemies of Bar Harbor. She just wished Troy would be on her side if it would come to that. It was cute though to see how he factored in Jake when it came to touching her, even in a friendly way.

"Don't worry about Jake, Troy." Mal said. "He was my boyfriend back in high school and we broke up right after graduation. We remained close friends after we both left for the military but that's all."

Mal smiled at Troy. Maybe after all this was over she could think about love again. But there was just so much work to do. Cassie appeared and told them Paco was going to be fine. Mark needed to speak to Jake and Mal couldn't help but wonder why.

"No haven't seen him since this morning." Mal answered. "Maybe ask Claudia? She should be in a good mood after just kicking Paco's ass. What's it about though?"

Mal wondered why Mark wanted to see Jake. Didn't seem like anything personal so there was no harm in prying right?

Claudia rinsed her mouth with some herbal anti-disinfectant one of the camp occupants had concocted. There hadn't been any real medical equipment or medicines before, not until Mal brought it in along with the guns but surprisingly that nature shit worked surprisingly well.

After Claudia washed the blood of her face Ayako came in and expressed concern about the bikers. Claudia listened but Ayako didn't tell her anything new. Unfortunately the bikers were a necessary evil and one they needed when it came to liberating Bar Harbor. They didn't seem all bad though, and some might be persuaded to leave the gang, Mallory's boytoy Troy being the first among them. But something sat wrong with Claudia. Her people were being bullied by the bikers? As in not standing up to them? Well now, that would have to change.

"Being bullied, Ayako?" Claudia asked. "And none of them are standing up to them? Christ, have they learned nothing!? Just exactly what the fuck have I been preaching all this time!?"

Claudia sighed annoyed and then looked up to Ayako. At least this chick was one of the tough ones.

"You see anyone getting bullied and you push them into action, you hear me?" Claudia said. "And if they won't you do it for them. I'll be goddamned if I'm gonna allow my people to get pushed around in their own home!"

Unbelievable that's what it was. Had they learned nothing? The harsh treatment, the constant training... had her people learned nothing? Claudia shook her head in disbelief, and Ayako asked for permission to take the Ramirez girl out.

"Take her, but be mindful of her leg." Claudia answered. "Make sure she doesn't favor it and uses it regularly. Teach her what you know, if I can keep one of these kids from being weak maybe all of this hasn't been for nothing."

Ayako left but before Claudia had an opportunity to sit down for a moment the leader of the bikers, Frank, came into her tent. She really needed to put a 'do not disturb' sign on her tent.

She listened to Frank's flattery, although it didn't much move her. And his interpretation of her, thinking he knew what moved her? She had a tough time not laughing out loud. However, the amusement suddenly became more serious when he suggested she'd betray Mallory and use her as bait. She was able to keep a stoicine face about it but in her mind she was already cutting his balls off and feeding them to him.

He apparently had read things the wrong way. Yes, there had been a long time of hatred towards Mallory on Claudia's part. Yes, Mal still wasn't Claudia's most favorite person in the world right now. And yes, they still butted heads on a daily basis on how to run the camp. But apart from all that, Mal was still her girl. The one she knew since they were toddlers, the one she grew up with and once called her a sister. And even though they had a certain animosity between the two of them, Claudia was still unconditionally loyal to Mallory and wouldn't betray her even if it meant ridding the world of this virus that caused the dead to rise. And not just Mal, the Faradays were family and Claudia owed everything to them.

"So let me get this straight Frank." Claudia answered. "You want me to help you, sacrificing Mal in the progress, someone who I have known my entire life and whose family is like my own all for the sake of killing Big Dick?"

Claudia grabbed her two blades from the table before grinning at Frank.

"Boy, did you come knockin' on the wrong door..."

Exactly half a second later Frank came flying out of her tent and landed in front of it right in the middle of everyone.

Betrayal? Conspiring? Scheming? Against HER people? Not on her fucking watch. Claudia followed Frank out and pressed one of her blades up against his throat. His boys could do whatever they wanted, they weren't going to do it without her slicing Frank's throat wide open.

Naturally, the commotion attracted Mal's attention too. "Aww shit, here we go..." Mal spoke and gestured Troy to follow her. She wasn't even surprised.

"Everyone, gather round!" Claudia said, as her people gathered around her. Some were armed, some were not. Mal took position next to Claudia, her hands on her M4 just in case. This didn't appear like it was going to end well and Mal knew.

"Claw? What's going on?" Mal asked.

"This scumbag suggested I'd turn on you and use you to kill Big Dick!" Claudia answered. "Now aren't you glad you have a real loyal friend like me to nip this kind stuff in the butt?"

With a worried gaze Mal looked at Troy. She was at a loss but in a way by the way she looked at him she was telling him that this wasn't going to end well. She just hoped he was able to keep the other bikers from acting out.

"Frank? That true?" Mal asked. "Why?"

Mal's heart was pounding. Not because of Frank's betrayal, but because of the situation. She was going over multiple scenarios in her head but not too many of them ended well. Choices were going to have to be made, and not just by her. Seemed Troy and a few of the bikers would have to show their true colors, and what kind of men they were.

Just when Frank thought he had Claudia figured out he was wrong. Dead wrong. When he saw her grab her blades and grinned at him his smirk slowly faded away and he looked confused. Next thing he knew he was outside on the ground with the wind knock out of him. Before he could stand up he had Claudia's blades pointed at his neck and this was when he knew he was in trouble. When Claudia spilled the beans and Mal asked why all Frank could do was sigh and before he could answer he heard the familiar sounds of guns being cocked as his men drew out their firearms. "Well first off I want to say Claudia you have bigger balls then I thought and Mal I didn't say turn on you I just said you use as bait. I thought if we gave you to Dick with some of my men turning you then I figured we would have a real shot. I'm saying with destroy them from the inside out, once my boys are in we grab supplies and guns. If we find people that are held against their will and want to leave I'd figured we would be doing them a solid. Once we find out were you were being held at we would grab you and spring out of there. The only reason why I didn't tell you is because I thought you would think it's to risky and wouldn’t go along with it. We would be doing this at night I thought the darkness covering us would help so they couldn't have a clear shot at hitting us. So Mallory what do you think of the plan?" said Frank in a calm tone. His heart was pounding like crazy but he wasn't about to show weakness in front of his men.

Troy held his Beretta at Claudia and he had a cold look in his eyes. "Get up." said Troy to Claudia in a serious tone. "If you kill Frank now what does this accomplish? Your people die and my people die. Blood on your hands can you live with that? You need us as much as we need you so get off him...Please." said Troy in a serious tone.

Troy was ready to kill Claudia much to Mallory's disliking but he would do it to protect Frank. This man was family to him and he would die for this man even if he had problems with his past actions they were a Club and they were family for life. Troy looked around as other members of the Club kept their weapons ready.

"It's your move Rebel." said Frank to Claudia as he laid there. He took his eyes off her and saw that some of his men had guns pointed at the unarmed people. "I'll tell you what after we kill Big Dick and his goons the plan for my Club is to head to Old Orchard Beach which is far away from this little slice of paradise. We would be at least three hours away from here and that means we wouldn't have to see one another. I'll give you my word here and now that if any of my men mess with your people I'll personally put them in line and you and I both know I don't have problem with that." said Frank to Claudia.

Ayako was still upset about the bikers but she understood what Claw mean't by necessary evil. Better to go along with the Devil you know then the one you don't right? She was grabbing her bag and as she did she saw Maria training with Julio, one of the kids that managed to escape with his family. The two of them were training and Ayako crossed her arms and watched in silence. Dispute her injured leg Maria was doing good. She was doging his attacks with the wooden sword waiting for an opportunity to strike. She saw an opportunity and she took it striking him in the hand disarming him before she swept him to the floor. Thing was she lost her balance and also feel to the floor. She got up and smiled at Julio helping him up. Ayako walked over to the two young kids.

"Great work you two. So Maria do you remember about our talk of you joining me during one of my hunts? Well now is the time go grab your things and I'll see you near my tent." said Ayako to the young girl Maria who smiled brightly and hugged Ayako who was taken back by the hug as she wasn't used to it. Yet a soft but small smile appeared on her face and she put her hand on the young girl's shoulder. Maria let go and was off to go grab her things while Ayako waited by her tent. Moments later she was joined by Maria but not before seeing Frank the leader of the bikers get tossed on his ass from Claudia. Maria looked concerned but Ayako just shook her head. "Don't worry about it come on." said Ayako to Maria and the two left before they witnessed anything else.

As they started their hunt Ayako was on guard just in case any of Big Dick's men came by or any big animals like wolfs or bears. Ayako smirked slightly at the thought of bring a bear to camp. Hell she figured the bear could possibly last them two weeks if she could kill it. Still she wasn't going to take any chances with Maria around. She looked at the young girl who was limping and she could see that she was putting more weight on her other leg and stopped her. "I know it hurts putting weight on your injured leg but you have to do it. If you favor your other leg it won't get better. You fight through the pain and it makes you stronger." said Ayako in a calm tone to Maria who looked into her eyes and nodded. "You're right...It's just sometimes it gets to me. I mean when I was training with Julio I didn't even feel the pain it was almost like I didn't have a limp leg but when I lost my balance it all came back to me. I'm stuck with this forever." said Maria softly. It was then Ayako grabbed the young girl's shoulders tight and Maria quickly straightened up. "You will not be stuck like this forever you hear me? This what you are feeling now is only temporary. Like I told you before fight through the pain don't let it consume you." said Ayako in a calm but serious tone now. Maria once again nodded and Ayako loosened her grab and pulled out her bow as she scanned the area. She took out an arrow and shot at a squirrel climbing up the tree. She walked over taking the dead animal off the tree and cleaning her arrow with a rag that she had she handed Maria the animal who put it in her bag. She then saw a woodpecker and handed her bow to Maria. "I want you to try and hit it." said Ayako to Maria who took the bow and one of Ayako's arrows. but she shook her head and let out a heavy sigh. "I-I don't think I can hit it." said Maria nervously. Ayako looked at her and crossed her arms. "Line up your shot and breath in slowly. Calm your nerves and just went you are ready to shoot hold your breath slightly and release." said Ayako to Maria as she explained it.

Maria lined up her shoot and took a few moments to calm her nerves. She took her shot and hit the bird knocking it dead center. Maria looked surprised and smiled brightly at Ayako. "I did it! Holy crap I can't believe I actually did it!" said Maria with excitement as she couldn't believe she made the shot. Ayako just chuckled and smiled at the young girl. "I'm proud of you Maria. You did great." said Ayako with a smile to Maria. The two of them went to go grab the bird and Ayako's arrow as they got the dead bird and Ayako's arrow Maria stared at Ayako's tattoo.

"I remember you...You used to visit our coffee shop back before all this. I remember you ordered our house special one time "Winter Coffee" and you after first time that's all you had. I remember I always asked you about your tattoo but you never told me about it." said Maria to Ayako who looked away from the young girl briefly looking at the ground before looking back up at the young girl. "I got it for my mother...She pasted away from cancer and at the time I remember she told me stories about dragons and how dragons are guardians of Buddha and how they symbolize protection and promise. So I got this to honor her and always cherish the meaning of what she taught me." said Ayako to Maria her voice was slightly shaky as she never told anyone this yet it felt like a weight had been lifted off her shoulders and to be honest it felt good. Maria put her knife away as she had to cut off the arrow head from the bird's body. Maria took her time standing up and she took Ayako's hand. "Thank you for telling me that...I know that must have been hard to say." said Maria softly to Ayako who nodded. "Alright let's keep hunting. Who knows we might get lucky and find another deer." said Ayako with a smirk to Maria who smiled. The two were off ready to continue their hunt.

Mallory sighed deeply. She had enough of all this shit. Her mother and sister were in danger and all she could do for the moment was sit on her ass. She just didn't have the patience anymore to play peacekeeper between a bunch of rowdy exiles and a bunch of bikers. Claudia, a person she'd still call sister after all that happened between them and Frank, a shady MC president with an own agenda. Had it been any other kind of outlaw making a fuss she'd stand with Claudia, but Frank meant a lot for Troy, and Troy meant a lot for Mal so for his sake she'd try and defuse the situation, even though she was frustrated six ways to Sunday.

"Enough! E-FUCKING-NOUGH!" Mal shouted.

She pushed Claudia's blade away from Frank's throat and grabbed the slide of Troy's Beretta with her hand, pushing it down.

"You all want to kill eachother? That want you want?" Mal continued. "Big Dick's gonna have a good laugh when he finds out we all murdered the shit out of eachother without him so much as lifting a finger!"

Claudia grunted but saw wisdom in the words. She put her blade away and gave Mal a look that said 'okay, you handle it then'. Mal then nodded at Troy saying 'I got this' before turning to Troy again.

"Frank, we got a plan and we don't need you coming up with new ones." Mal said. "There's too much at stake to be anything but subtle about this. My family is in there and there are currently people in the town risking their necks for them and I'll be goddamned if any one of them comes to harm!"

Mal then turned to the bikers, as she got closer a few of them lowered their guns as a few others kept it trained on her.

"You boys want a fight?" Mal asked. "I'll give you a goddamn fight. One of the biggest you've seen so far. You fight for me and you'll get first pick at the spoils. A lot of the wealthier folks sided with Big Dick against my father and whatever they've got of value is yours."

Claudia sighed annoyed and rolled her eyes. Mal looked her straight in the eyes showing her disapproval. "Shut it Claw."

Now all bikers lowered their guns. Greed was still a powerful motivator after all. Mal just raised an eyebrow and looked at Frank. "That cool with you Frank?"

"Now all of you, disperse and get back to work!" Mal continued. "Anybody makes trouble for anyone, and I'll deal with you myself! And needless to say I'm not even half as diplomatic as my dad was!"

The crowd then dispersed and the situation was resolved.

"Can't be any worse than Claudia, that's for sure." she could hear someone in the crowd utter.

"Hey, who said that!?" Claudia shouted, but of course no one responded.

Mal wasn't done however with Frank yet though. She got on one knee in front of the biker boss, there were a few things she needed to say before he could go about his business.

"You know I actually feel bad for you Frank." Mal said. "When this is all over we have a real chance of rebuilding society and civilization. But you're stuck in the ways of a world that isn't there anymore. You and your boys could contribute so much more to the world, but you insist on sticking to petty banditism and I, for the good of the world, cannot figure out why."

Mal got back up. That about covered it.

"I meant what I said." Mal continued. "Anything of value that belongs to the collaborating families is yours. Consider it payment for the guns and your help. After that, you're free to do whatever you want."

Mal then walked away from everyone and could just feel the mental fatigue kicking in. She needed some alone time, and the forest was just the place to do it. She made her way down to the river and sat down leaning her back to a rock formation and keeping her M4 in her lap. No more drama, no having to mitigate between everyone. Just the sound of the river, and the rays of sunshines coming from between the trees.

Fuck it was good to be home.

Well, Mal sure told them. Claudia felt a pang of guilt of having to put her old friend through that. After all Mallory went through they shouldn't have to rely on her to solve everything. Had Mikayla not been able to hide Claudia's parents in time, Claudia would be right up there with Mal. She dreaded to think what Big Dick would have done to her parents after all the things she had done to his men.

Now, she was left with Troy and for some reason this Troy guy meant a lot for Mal, like the nurse girl Cassie. Claudia figured they probably went through a lot together and from what she had picked up it wasn't all good times. As for Frank, Mal obviously wasn't on the same page as him and Troy didn't seem to agree with his boss all the time either.

"Look, you obviously mean a lot to her." Claudia said to Troy. "And well, fuck... she kinda still does to me too even after everything. So what's say you and I make her life a bit easier huh?"

Claudia wasn't good in this mushy talk, not anymore. Not since she broke up with Mal's brother and the end of the world happened. So having said that, she walked off passing the medical tent as she did. In there, she could hear a conversation.

"Dude, you got your ass kicked by a girl!"

"SHUT THE FUCK UP CUTLER!"

Claudia snickered as she walked by. Well, there was more to be done around camp. She went looking for Jake, being the peacekeeper he was he probably would hit himself in the head if he heard what had just transpired. She of course, couldn't wait to tell him.
