Going to town [Ayita/Sara/OPEN]

Sara thought of the options that were presented to her. She fixed her hair putting it in a messy bun before crossing her arms and thinking. She broke out of her thoughts when Ayita appeared and she smiled at her and nodded. "Well...We could start the generator and as that's going off Ayita could shoot another car with your rifle to set off the alarm but...Chances are it might not work like it did yesterday." said Sara softly to her friends. Sara looked at the ground getting lost in thoughts as a million ideas were going through her head. She could try to make a homemade alarm system but that would require taking the battery's out of the flashlight to do so and smoke detector which she saw on the ceiling of where they slept.  "If possible I could try an alarm system and throw it from the roof here but that would require me to take out one of the battery's from the flashlights I grabbed yesterday or...Ayita you could dip one of your arrows in some gasoline and shoot it at a near by building. It could catch on fire and that would draw the walkers to it." suggested Sara as she shrugged letting out a heavy sigh. "I'll go down now and see if I can do anything about reinforcing the entrances." said Sara to Ziggy and Ayita as she left them. She climbed down the ladder and was back downstairs, she looked over the entrance where she had set up her alarm system with some of the net from the soccer goal and the soda cans. She once again crossed her arms as she looked around the garage thinking of what she could make. She looked at a few metal bars that were nearby and chains that were on hanging on a rack. She smirked as she grabbed the chains and the metal bars and got to work. She was going to make a barrier with the chains and the metal bars. She moved a few racks over and set the metal bars at an angle while the chain held the metal bar in place. As soon as the dead broke in they would be greeted with a metal bar to the chest. 

Other ideas ran through her head as she saw a nitrogen tank. She dragged it over to the entrance where she made her alarm system and began the process of trying to make a trip wire out of it. The idea was to hook it up to the alarm system but the pressure inside the tank starts to build up once Sara turns the knob on the tank. If any of the dead were to step on it the tank would come flying at them like bottle rocket. Sara wiped the sweat from her forehead as she had been working now for nearly an hour. She was working so much she didn't even know if the generators were even on at this point. Sara was in her own nerdy little world and at this point all she could think about was getting home.

Nodding in acknowledgment at Ziggy's concern about how starting a fire may attract more than just the attention of the handful of undead that roamed the streets around them Ayita crossed her arms for a moment. "You're right Sieglinde, We can handle a handful of ayohuhisdi." She said, her hands falling to her sides again as she closed the distance with Ziggy. Watching as Ziggy's hand reach up to rub the bandage that served to conceal the wound she had sustained when trying to help the wounded blonde who's name Ayita couldn't recall at the moment she placed her hand on the girls arm and smiled. She could tell by the way she touched the wound that it didn't pain her nearly as much as it had before but the look in her eyes told the Native American girl all she needed to know; That what happened with the two walkers she had dispatched upon arriving at the crash site before they turned and the fact they hadn't been able to save the blonde still weighed heavily on Ziggy's mind.


Applying a small amount of presure on her arm Ayita looked Ziggy in the eyes for a moment with an expression that told the blonde that she was there for her if she needed her before letting her hand fall once more. Placing a small kiss on Ziggy's cheek Ayita felt her own flush red as she pulled away. Turning away from Sara she tried to hide it as best she could as she heard Ziggy start to speak again.

"Y-You're right, We can handle a small amount of them just fine." Ayita stuttered out still trying to shove her flustered feelings back down. Pulling on the end of her plaid button up she cleared her throat and looked to Ziggy and Sara. "So we defend this place while Ziggy gets the.. Car... Back up and running. Sounds like a plan." Ayita confirmed, the redness in her cheeks had begun to fade as she began to focus on the task at hand. Sara soon made her way out of the room and when she did Ziggy answered the statement she had made previously. Her cheeks flushed red again as the words met her ears. "Y-Yea, It... It was a new experience to me.." Ayita stammered out. "Good experience though!" She corrected in short order from the fear that she had sounded offputting. Hiding her face again as she felt her cheeks grow flushed again Ayita bowed her head to the blonde. Hearing mention of getting a room with a double bed when they reach Sara's town Ayita felt her cheeks heat up again. "I'd... I'd like that." Ayita returned shyly.

Soon Ayita looked back to her companion and as she did Ziggy winked and motioned her to follow, Ayita did so without a word. Coming to stand near the car the two were soon rejoined by Sara who quickly explained what she had been doing and the traps she had set up. Having composed herself as much as she was going to Ayita had to give it to the girl, even if she wasn't that good at killing the dead in the traditional way, she sure was good at using her brain. "Good job Sara." Ayita greeted with a smile. "They're gonna be a big help." she assured her before turning to Ziggy. I'll get on the roof and keep an eye on the situation outside. Pick them off as they get close and keep you guys posted on what's coming." She said as her gaze shifted between her two traveling partners. "If they all get out of my sight I'll come back down and help defend from down here."

With those words Ayita slung her bow around her shoulder by the string and grabbed her quiver of arrows before approaching Ziggy. "Get us out of here." she said as she placed a kiss on the girl before getting to the ladder. Half way up she turned her head back to girls and nodded before climbing the rest of the way up and disappearing through the skylight. "I just did that." She said to herself as she reached the top and let out the breath she didn't know she was holding from when she kissed Ziggy. Being the first time she's taken the initiative on the matter it was an understatement to say her heart was pounding. But now wasn't the time to think about those sorts of things and Ayita knew it. Reaching the spot that had served as her firing position the previous day during the supply run Ayita surveyed the immediate area before returning to the skylight. "Ready when you are." she called down before readying her bow and returning to her position.

Sara gripped her knife tightly deciding to hang by the entrance that had the rack and metal bars set up. Once Ziggy got the generator and car started she smiled but still the noise was going to bring a heck load of the dead onto them. A few hours had gone by and the dead were walking into the metal poles but were stopped by the rack from coming in. Sara stabbed them in the head until she couldn't reach the ones that were in the back. She was hoping that Ayita was having some luck taking care of them. She ran to her other trap and she could see the dead trying to get in but luckily they couldn't thanks to the tarp blocking their way. She could see the tank was building up pressure by the high pitch sound coming from it. "Come on, Come on." said Sara to herself. She grabbed a wrench that was on the table and waited. Once the walkers broke through the tarp she began to hit the knob of the tank with the wrench. Once the knob broke off the tank went flying at the dead hitting the one that was coming in. The walker went flying knocking down a few of his dead friends to the floor. Sara could feel her nerves coming back but no wasn't the time to be scared. "Time to take out these bitches!" said Sara to herself. She throw the wrench at the first walker that came in knocking it to the floor before stomping on his head. The next one came at her and she stabbed it in the head before pushing it back and slamming a rack down in front of the doorway blocking their way in.

Sara was covered in blood and she ran over to where Ziggy was at. "Took down a few at both entrances. Had to improve and throw down a rack to block their way from getting in. It won't hold for long but their isn't that many left. How's the car Ziggy?" asked Sara to Ziggy. She took off her glasses and began to wipe the blood off them. She looked like she had just stepped out of a horror movie with how much blood was on her.

Ziggy couldn't help but cringe at the sight of Sara all covered in blood. She was curious as to how it all worked inside a walker's body. Given the deterioration of the bodies of the dead one would think there was no bloodflow. Their hearts sure as hell didn't beat anymore. So would that mean that if there was some kind of virus or bacteria inside the blood would it survive? And if whatever caused this was already in everyone, why would you only die if you got bitten?

Still cringing, Ziggy took a rag and handed it to Sara. She was going to need more than a simple rag to clean everything up but it was a start right?

"Scheisse Sara what did you do?" Ziggy asked. "You look like a latina Carrie!"

There was something about the smell of blood that one just couldn't get over. That coppery, sour and vomit-like smell... Ziggy knew that the smell would at least linger in her nose for a few more days.

Ayita then came standing next to her and asked if this was their ride now. Proudly, Ziggy smiled and put her hand over Ayita's shoulder.

"Yup!" Ziggy answered with pride. "They're going to have to try really hard to get to us when we're in there!"

But Ziggy also knew this wouldn't be easy for Ayita. But Ziggy being someone who believed fiercely in facing your fears, she took Ayita's hand and guided her to the driver's seat of the car. The car, with the engine still turned on and rumbling, shook mildly.

"Here, why don't you try and have a seat in front of the wheel?" Ziggy said as she opened the driver's door. "Just sit down and put your hands on the wheel, get a feel for her. You're going to have to learn to drive at some point you know!"

Smiling reassuringly, Ziggy pointed at the driver's side seat. She herself was someone who would always face her fears head on. Whether or not Ayita came from the same school of thought remained to be seen. But there was a certain sense of urgency here. They were going to have to leave soon and with luck they'd be in Maine in less than twenty-four hours.

Hearing the answer to her question as Ziggy placed a hand on her shoulder Ayita shuttered slightly at her words. Even if it was as safe as she had said it would be the thought of barrelling headlong down the road in a hunk of metal propelled by an engine was still something that brought a great amount of anxiety to the young Native American girl. "A-Alright." She stuttered out as she watched Ziggy pop the door open. But Ziggy then did something that Ayita wasn't expecting. Instead of hoping in the drivers seat and starting it up before prompting her to take one of the other seats in the vehicle Ziggy instead took her hand and guided her to the drivers seat. "Wait-I-I'm driving?" Ayita stuttered in a daze of surprise and fear as she found herself sitting in front of the steering wheel of the vehicle.

"Wa-Wait Sieglinde, Thi-This isn't what.." Ayita began to stammer, but she was quickly cut off by the blonde who had told her to take the wheel and get a feel for it. Ayita's anxiety was at an all time high as she felt the vibration from the engine underneath her. Slowly she brought her hands up to grasp the wheel as Ziggy had instructed. "L-Like-Like this?" she asked her head jerking nervously to face her lover. "I-I-I'm not driving this right?" She asked again. Her hands still grasping tightly around the wheel she searched Ziggy's eyes for reassurance, which she found but along with the reassuring gaze of the blonde there was the gestures telling her to continue to get a feel for things, Was she trying to get her to face her fears? Probably. It fit her after all, Ayita had gotten the sense early on that the girl that she now had feelings for was the type to never shy away from a challenge, or anything for that matter.

"I-It's not-not that bad.. I guess." Ayita said after a few more moments in the seat, She had since grown accustomed to the vibration of the engine and as she looked around at the cabin she examined each piece, from the radio in the center dash, to the cup holders in either door and in the center between the seats, to the back area where Sara now sat. Her gaze passing the girl Ayita offered a smile for a brief instance before turning back to Sieglinde. "It's-It's not that bad." She said with a nod and a deep breath as she stepped out. "You can drive Sieglinde." she said as she stepped out and placed a kiss on the girl. as she pulled away she whispered to the blonde. "Thank you."

Pulling away from the blonde Ayita grabbed her bag from the ground near the front door along with her bow before handing Ziggy her weapon back. "I-I'll try to get used to this." She said with a smile to her lover before she went around to take up her place in the passengers seat. "Time-Time to go?" she asked before bowing her head. Hearing the drivers side door close Ayita closed her eyes and offered a small prayer to the protector for a safe journey. Opening them again she looked to Ziggy before reaching out to take the girls hand. "Let's get this over with." she said, the nerves in her voice noticeably lessened from before but still there she kept her gaze fixed on Ziggy as they began to get underway.
