It's Just Who You Are
Likes: Avoiding confrontations with zombies, caring for her son, finding baby supplies, having stockpiles of supplies, safe locations
Dislikes: Fighting zombies, leaving her son, her weakness after giving birth, being alone, unfamiliar locations
Strengths: Good shot (though somewhat rusty), medical knowledge, knows how to hunt and fish, good at improvising
Habits: Obsessive about checking on her son and making sure he's ok
Flaws: Extremely anxious and protective about her son, confrontational, out of practice defending herself because she's been avoiding zombies as much as possible since discovering her pregnancy
Dreams/goals: Before the apocalypse, Liv wanted to finish nursing school and get a job. After the apocalypse, she wanted to stay safe with her boyfriend and future husband Jason. After Jason died, her goal has been to protect her son at all costs
Fears: Losing her son
Overall Personality:
Liv is very anxious about her son and his safety, and isn't afraid to back down from a fight (verbal or physical) if it will keep him safe. She's still grieving the loss of her husband, but their son has become her only priority in life. She's wary of other people, but is willing to join a group if she thinks it will be safer for her and her son. Liv is easy going unless she thinks something threatens the safety of her son, and then she will do whatever it takes to defend him. Liv prefers the safety of familiar locations and stockpiles of food since through the later months of her pregnancy she relied on food she'd stored in a safehouse for when it was no longer safe for her to risk fighting zombies.
Even Though Yesterday's Gone
History:
Liv was born in Dallas, Texas. The oldest of three girls, she had a fairly normal upbringing in the suburbs. For college, she decided to go to the University of Texas Arlington campus for nursing - the perfect combination of not too close to home but also not too far away. While at college, she met Jason Stevenson, an engineering student at the school. Liv and Jason were fast friends but a slower couple, only dating in their third year of school together. The two were second semester seniors when news of the strange sickness began spreading. Wanting to get out of the city, the couple went to Jason's parents farm in Aledo, only 30 minutes away but far enough from the crowds in the city.
At the farm, life became almost normal. Animals still needed fed, the garden needed weeded, and the fields needed planting. But the power cuts and gasoline shortages added an element of hardship to life there, but the inhabitants persevered. Also taking refuge at the far was Jason's brother and his boyfriend, Jason's sister, and grandparents. The small house held nine people total, and Liv and Jason valued any alone time they could get. Their favorite refuge was to "go fishing" at the pond, and that gave them privacy and also dinner for the group.
Nine months into her stay at the farm, Liv found herself pregnant. She was overwhelmed but happy, and Jason was overjoyed. The rest of the family was excited too, and Liv and Jason held a makeshift wedding ceremony a few days later. Four months later, tragedy struck. Liv and Jason were at the pond again, and they came back to chaos in the farmhouse. Jason's grandfather had had a heart attack and passed while taking a nap. He reanimated and attacked his wife, and the chain reaction spread until the household was either dying, dead, or undead.
Liv and Jason got into his truck and sped away. Shaken, they decided to go back to the apartment they once shared in the city. Once they arrived, they found it safe enough, and decided to make it their base of operations while they explored the nearby area to see if they could find someplace safer or a group of people to join. Due to her pregnancy, Liv often waited outside where it was safer while Jason took care of clearing the walkers out of wherever they were going. This worked well for about three months, until, seven months pregnant, Liv heard Jason yelling for her to run. Scared for her life and that of their child, she did. It was only when she got back to their apartment that the shock hit. For the rest of the day, Liv kept vigil by the window, waiting and hoping that Jason would come back. As darkness fell, she gave up hope. She was on her own.
Liv moved to an empty CVS across the street and a half block down, unable to stand living in their apartment by herself. It was a slow process, but she gradually moved the food, water, and baby supplies she and Jason had collected to her new hideout, along with some bedding and photos from the apartment. It was comfortable enough, and Liv made it her home for the remaining two months of her pregnancy, only rarely venturing out to gather more supplies if she was low on something.
Liv delivered her baby by herself, a boy she named Jason after his father. She's spent the two weeks since his birth resting and recovering, trying to keep him as quiet as possible so his cries don't attract zombies. She doesn't feel ready to venture out into the world or fight the undead, but she will if she has to, to protect her son.
