Sara was exhausted after a long day of school and the situation that had happened at the party with Laura didn't help either as that news spread around the school like wildfire. All she could hear was the whispering and the snickers among her classmates, it broke her heart and as she entered the door to her work she was greeted by none other then her younger sister Maria who was waiting for her near the door as her job was to greet guests that walked in. "Hey sis how was your day?" asked Maria with a smile to Sara who looked completely drained but the older sibling smiled back even though she was dead tired. "I'm fine...Just a dreadful and boring day." said Sara to Maria. Their conversation was cut short as their mother Camilla came in through the back carrying a new espresso machine She was struggling with it as it was quite heavy. Sara quickly rushed over and helped her mother carry it behind the bar. "Alright honey thank you. Now go get your uniform on your shift is suppose to start in five minutes." said Camilla to Sara in a quick tone. Sara let out a heavy sigh and shook her head as she was ordered by her mother. She understood where she was coming from but it wouldn't hurt to just get a hi or how was your day? But Sara knew she would lie about her day she didn't want her parents to worry about her after all. So she went to the women's bathroom and into one of the stalls where she began to change into her uniform.
Once she was done changing into her uniform she fixed her hair pulling it back into a ponytail before stepping out. She walked into the back of the shop and clocked in with the time clock punch before stepping back out into the lobby she did some deep breaths to calm her nerves before walking back out there. Once she was out there she was all smiles as she was taking orders and making guests their beverages. A few hours went by and everything seemed to be going smoothly that was until Laura walked in with three of her friends. Maria sat them down at a table near the bar. Sara quickly looked around trying to do something to look busy she could see her mother was at the bar and other workers were already taking guests. So she quickly went to the back and as she did she hid between a few boxes in the back her heart was racing and she was trying to slow it down by doing a few breathing exercises and as she felt her nerves going away that's when she heard the door to the back open and it was none other then her mother. "Sara what are you doing back here? We have a table full of guest right now." asked Camilla in a demanding tone. Sara was stumbling on her words but her mother just shook her head. "Come on Sara out now!" said Camilla as she grabbed Sara by the arm quickly bringing her out to the lobby.
As soon as she walked over to Laura's table and made eye contact with her, her anxiety was kicked up by a thousand. Sara could feel a lump in her throat and as she had her note pad and pen ready to take their order she was shaking like a leaf. "How can I help you?" asked Sara softly but nervously to Laura and her friends who just laughed as they looked at Sara. "Excuse me did you say something? Speak up freak." said Laura coldly to Sara as she looked at her with piercing eyes. Sara cleared her throat before speaking again this time more clearly and as they heard Sara, Laura let out a sigh as they looked through the menu. "I'll have a vanilla chai with one extra sugar and don't take forever like last time you freak." said Laura to Sara who wrote down Laura's order then her friends orders. After getting their orders she went to the bar and made it for them she could hear them talking about her insulting her in every way possible. Sara couldn't understand why Laura and her friends were so mean to her was it because she was just so different? Once Sara finished their drinks and brought it to their table they seemed satisfied and Sara let out a sigh of relief before heading back behind the bar cleaning it up for just a moment until the door opened a new guest walked in.
