It's Just Who You Are
Likes: Sports, guns, history, jokes, pizza
Dislikes: Stupid people, activists, slackers, rich folks, social-media promotors
Strengths: Marksmanship, leadership, tactical emergency casualty care specialist, great physique, strong-minded, decisive, never quits
Habits: Should have a parental advisory sticker on her butt for all the swearing she does, gives people nicknames even if no one else does
Flaws:
Physical: During cold and wet weather her hand hurts sometimes due to a fracture she had as a teen, not very good in stomping walkers to death or fight off people in a fistfight due to a lack of physical strength
Personality: sarcastic and cynical, unsubtle with other people's emotions, too brutal honesty at times
Dreams/goals: Find out what happened to her family, restart society, wait out the apocalypse and get a community together to start over, find the cause of the outbreak
Fears: Dying before she has a chance to find her family and achieve her goals
Overall Personality: In general, Mallory is a nice friendly person but has a tendency to test people who rub her the wrong way before easing up on them. She has a dry, sarcastic humor and is always able to come up with witty remarks even in stressful situations. She is very blunt, but honest when dealing with people and will say things the way they objectively are, sometimes angering people because of it. She cares deeply for the people in her group, even if it seems she doesn't like them. If she gives someone a hard time, it's because she wants to help that person to become better. She has a zero tolerance for stupidity and will call people out on it. She also has no empathy for quitters but won't leave anyone behind either. If a hard decision has to be made, she'll make it but won't do so without thinking about the consequences and bearing them. She is an optimist and believes the world can still be saved from the scourge, and intends to be part of the solution, not the problem.
Even Though Yesterday's Gone
History: Mallory was born in Bar Harbor on Mount Desert Island in the state of Maine, a fishing village with a few touristic hotspots. She is the daughter of the local sheriff Abraham Faraday, and Marlene Faraday, an ER nurse in the local hospital. She had a normal childhood with her older brother Quinlan and her younger sister Chloe.
When Mallory was 18, right before graduating high school, her younger sister Chloe got in a car accident in which she saw her boyfriend brutally maimed, and she reverted mentally to a child-like state. Mallory, not wanting to deal with it, joined the Marine Corps right after graduating high school, becoming a Marine Security Guard and was sent all over the world to guard the US Embassies. The majority of her service she spent in Western-Europe in countries such as France, Belgium and Germany. She waved off after 10 years of service as a Staff Sergeant, going to college at the age of 28 at the University of South California.
Mallory studied biology, specializing in virology and pathology, but her studies were abruptly ended after four years due to the outbreak. Being in California, Mallory fled with a couple of friends to the desert, joining a survivors' community in Desert Shores. After it became clear no help was coming and this was going to be a long-term thing, Mallory and her friends prepared to get on the road. Before they were able to leave however, the camp was attacked by a bunch of raiders who looked like they came straight out of a Mad Max movie. Mallory was barely able to escape, losing one friend in the process and losing another some time later.
Now she finds herself in the company of new people, and is still determined to make it back home.
