Overall Personality: Kenji is by the book the majority of the time and has a tough love and no nonsense attitude about him. He believes that when he is in control that his word is law. He handles situations poorly and can be known to fly off the handle and yell at people behind close doors whenever they are in his office. He rarely laughs or shows emotions and when he does it's usually because he unexpectedly scares someone. Which is a rare sight to see.





History:Kenji Sanada grew up in Japan to a strick but caring family. Growing up Kenji always wanted his father's approval and worked hard for it. He always did as he was told wither it was to keep up good grades or clean up around the house he always did what he could to make his parents happy. He got a job working as a chef at his father's restaurant at the age of 18 but within a year the restaurant was turned over to him as his father and mother wanted to move to America to start a new life. Kenji in a way felt betrayed having to stay in Japan in a small apartment by himself. He got incredibly depressed and lonely. He turned to alcohol and eventually it took a toll on the restaurant and by the time he was 25 he had to close down the restaurant. When he broke the news to his father he was understandably angry and for a time Kenji distanced himself from his family.

During that time he decided to follow his dream and join the SAT or better known as the Special Assault Team which was basically Japan's version of SWAT. During that time he found a real purpose in his life and soon began to tell his dad the good news but shortly after delivering the news his mother passed away from cancer. He once again drowned himself in alcohol and was almost kicked off the team but he went through a rehab program and got himself help. It was during that time that he met a girl named Sakura Urai who was getting help for her drug addiction. The two of them made a pact to help one another stay clean and it worked. Soon the two fell in love and moved in together after three months. During this time Sakura began to teach Kenji English and within a year they planned on getting married and decided to head to Maine as Kenji wanted his family to be there.

The day they were they going to get married was when the town went to hell. Kenji made sure his family was safe and when the bridge blew up everything seemed normal. Kenji and Sakura finally got married and he was grateful for it. He was glad to have the whole town there and it seemed to be a joyful day. He joined Big Dick's group as he felt that he could make the tough calls that Abraham and the other sheriffs could not make. When Marco Ramirez betrayed Dick and the others he threw Marco in a cell and tortured him for information. When he got what he needed he decided to have Marco work the kitchen and has him wear an orange jumpsuit and he will turn a blind eye to the abuse he sees occasionally. He tried to find the little girl who fell into the water but sadly he or his team came up empty handed. As for Maria Ramirez he handed her off to Big Dick and after that he doesn't know what happened to her. As for his father Toshiro he tried to convince him to join Big Dick's forces but when he refused and said that Kenji was a disgrace Kenji beat him nearly to death and handed him over to Sheriff Wendell. After that incident he rarely sees his father.
