Overall Personality: Marlene is a smart, strong-minded woman with a lot of medical training. Although she is normally a very sociable and likeable person, being in captivity and not seeing her youngest daughter has made her anxious and angry. She has vowed to avenge her husband and kill Big Dick one day, but only after making sure her daughter is safe. She often cries for the children she lost, Mallory and Quinlan, because their fates are unknown to Marlene.
Even Though Yesterday's Gone
History:
Marlene was born in New Orleans as the daughter to store owners. She had a somewhat wild youth; as a teen and a young woman she partied a lot and New Orleans was just the place for it. She went through college and got a nursing license and first worked in a hospital in New Orleans.
One day during Mardi Gras she met a young soldier called Abraham Faraday, and the two fell in love. Although Abraham lived in Maine, she'd keep corresponding with him and would often visit him in Maine, taking a liking to the calm life there. After Abraham got out of the army Marlene finally moved to Maine to be with him. They got married and it wasn't too long before Quinlan was born, their first child. A year later their first daughter Mallory was born.
A few years passed and in time Abraham became the town sheriff. During that time Abraham became somewhat distant, always busy with work and otherwise too tired to do anything else. It took a hit on their marriage and while Abraham was away at work, Marlene became good friends with one of her colleagues and in time developed feelings for him. They had an affair and Marlene got pregnant with Chloe, giving birth to her nine months later.
At first Abraham was furious but he never stopped loving Marlene. She was the love of his life and he agreed to raise Chloe as his own if she agreed to break contact with her birth father. Marlene agreed, she still loved Abraham after all and they kept it a secret that Chloe was not Abraham's child. A few years later however, Chloe's birth father committed suicide and looking into his medical past, Marlene found out his family had an inclination for mental illnesses, something she would be mindful of with Chloe.
Unfortunately her worst fears came to pass after Chloe's accident; although she had no brain damage, her youngest acted like a five year old from the trauma and Marlene's life changed dramatically. Chloe was in and out of mental hospitals and her two other children were overseas in military service. Luckily Chloe was often being watched by the Forresters, giving Marlene a chance to go back to work and have some normality.
After the dead rose, Abraham quickly took charge and Marlene stood beside him all the way. The town thrived and was a real safe haven, but Abraham's rules about everyone sharing everything had angered a lot of people. One day, a group led by Big Dick, a town councilman, took over and executed Abraham. Marlene was taken captive along with Chloe, because Big Dick feared one day Marlene's other children might return and avenge their father.
Marlene is currently being kept captive and forced to do medical work as long as Chloe is a hostage.
