Overall Personality: Kinsley is your normal 16 year old teenager, and a great person to be around with. She cares about people and tries to get along with everyone. She feels however like people underestimate her, trying to put her in a box so she'd be safe from the world outside of Bar Harbor, but she's keen on making a difference for the community and make a name for herself like the ones who did during the Battle of Bar Harbor.
Even Though Yesterday's Gone
History: Kinsley was born and raised in Portland, Maine, and she was your average middle-schooler trying to make her way through the jungle that is middle- and high school. She wasn't the popular girl, but she wasn't quite invisible either. Kinsley focused on sports mostly, idolizing her cousin Chloe, a former Olympic gymnast. For the rest she liked normal teenage things, from boys to all that was cool. One thing made her different though; Kinsley had grown a liking to classic rock, while others were into pop music. Besides that, her life was fairly normal.
That all changed when strange things started happening; the dead rose and no one could explain why. Kinsley's parents chose to leave Portland before the military could close it down, going to their family in Bar Harbor, where her uncle Abe was the town's sheriff. With all that was going on, life on an island seemed preferable than on the mainland. But even some time in, when Kinsley thought they were going to outlive the world in Bar Harbor, it seemed human nature got the better of some of the inhabitants. People led by Big Dick took over the town and killed Kinsley's uncle, Abraham and imprisoned her aunt Marlene and cousin Chloe. Kinsley and her younger brother Brian fled to the forest with Claudia and Jake, together with all the other Bar Harbor youth, and Kinsley's parents and older sister were hidden by a friends in the town itself, with people knowing what would happen to anyone related to Abraham Faraday.
Kinsley lived in the forest along with the Bar Harbor youth under the rule of Claudia and Jake, and even though at times she felt like tearing Claudia apart, Kinsley slowly came to see what the woman was trying to do. Claudia was strict and harsh, but she didn't write anyone off either and seemed protective about everyone too. Kinsley learned to fight from her, and learned survival from Jake, actually taking a liking to the great outdoors.
Then, a miracle happened when Kinsley's cousin Mallory turned up a year later, after having made her way back from California. And Mallory brought allies and weapons, giving hope to everyone. Kinsley even forgave Mallory neglecting familial bonds, considering she had taken charge of the camp and had a lot going on. But on the day of the battle, in which they would take back the town, Kinsley was disappointed to find out she would not be fighting in the vanguard of the assault, instead she was assigned as a medic and had to help Cassandra Lennox in the field hospital. After having spoken about this with Jake, Kinsley found out Mallory had done so on purpose, trying to protect whatever family she had left. Although Kinsley appreciated the gesture from her older cousin, she hoped to fight like everyone else would.
After the battle and after Kinsley was reunited with the rest of her family, it was decided everyone under the age of 18 was to go to school, even those that lived in the forest and served during the battle. Kinsley wanted to join the militia, but was persuaded to go to school and live life regularly, enjoying what youth she had left. Kinsley at the moment doesn't deny her life is bad, but she has a craving to be of significance to the community and make a name for herself just like the Valkyrie, the Brave and the Wise, and even her cousin, The Commander, herself.
