Flaws: Personality: She is a risk taker and seems to go straight into action without thinking causing her to be reckless. She tries to play this off as her being confident. Physical: She had nerve damage in her leg from a gunshot wound she received from one of Richard's men. Her leg healed up she walks with a very noticeable limp and it's hard for her to run.

Overall Personality: Maria is a kind and caring person to her friends and family. She is willing to help out and put their needs before her own. She is a bit of a tomboy preferring to play sports and ride her bike although she does have her nerdy moments like geeking out over books like her sister. She acts confident in her abilities despite her leg issue. But when people make fun of her disability she breaks down and begins to doubt herself. Although she tries to make it a point to not break down in front of others.
Even Though Yesterday's Gone
History: Maria Ramirez was born in a loving and caring family. Her father Marco was a deputy while her mother Camila owned a small coffee shop in town. She grew up with an older sister as well Sara who was the big brains of the family while Maria was more of an adventurer. She got along with her older sister finding common interest in books but she was a risk taker at heart and would explore town going around where she wasn't suppose to be. She was a trouble maker and she loved hanging out with her friends who were also trouble makers but her dad being a deputy would bail. She decided to change hanging out with a different group who were into sports like basketball or riding their bikes around Acadia national park. She was enjoying her life to the fullest at the time.
When the dead started to rise Maria was worried as was her older sister as they were hearing reports about it on the news. When Sheriff Abraham and the other deputies decided to blow the bridge up connecting to the mainland she thought their troubles were over but they were only just beginning as a up rise happened in town which was led by Richard "Big Dick" Fogarty. She saw the execution of Abraham Faraday and was horrified to see that her father sided with a man like Richard. At first she couldn't understand it and was angry with him but soon enough it became apparent, he would gain Richard's trust and when he saw an opportunity to escape he and his family would take it. Eventually Marco made his move so he took his family down to the docks but they got caught and a shootout happened. Marco covered his family and Camila cut off the rope to the boat, Sara was on but just as Maria neared the boat she felt a bullet hit her and she dropped from the docks hitting the cold freezing water below As she drifted in the water she thought this was it and she was done for. She floated in the water and was about to embrace death but she was saved by and it was truly a miricle. When she woke up she was in a tent and was surrounded by a few people some recognized. She eventually met the leader Claudia who she had heard of in town and she told the woman her story and what happened. While she was recovering she noticed the training that they were going through and soon she befriended another woman one who she had seen in town. Her name was Ayako and the two became friends almost like a sister bond. Ayako would look out for Maria in camp and help her out with her leg. Within a few weeks she was learning to skin and help out around camp although it was minor work like gathering wood or checking supplies. Eventually she got her chance and learned to hunt from Ayako which she was excited to learn. But the surprise of all was when her older sister showed up and Maria broke down as tears of joy were let out. The two sisters grew close from their time in the forest and when the battle happened Maria stayed in the forest as her injured leg would have slowed them down.
Once the town was taken over and her dad was saved she sat by his side while he recovered and once he got the okay he was put to work and Maria went to school enjoying her life. For a moment she felt normal and it was a worried feeling but that feeling was quickly dashed away as she received gun training from Justin. She she tries to live a normal life or about as normal as you can in this messed up world.
