Troy was all dressed up for his dinner date with Ysabel and Mallory not knowing if she was going to bring anyone. For some reason though he could feel butterflies in his stomach, a nervousness. He tried shaking it off and he stood there in front of his bathroom mirror looking himself over. Was it a bit to much that he shaved and did his hair for once? Normally he would just wear a beanie or leave his hair messy but he wanted to look nice. He heard footsteps approaching and he was greeted by none other then his beautiful fiancé Ysabel who looked dropped dead gorgeous in anything really. Her hair was all done and she was wearing makeup yet her clothes were very casual and laidback. She smiled as she saw Troy and walked behind him as she wrapped her arms around him. "You look nervous you've been in here for nearly an hour. You okay?" asked Ysabel to Troy who nodded. "Yeah I'm fine just...A little nervous. Are the kids okay?" asked Troy to Ysabel who nodded. "Yeah I sent them to Jozel's house for the night. Apparently Sophia has to help Jozel dye her hair for some reason...I didn't ask but girls will be girls." she said casually. It was silent for a moment and Troy could smell the food and it was amazing. His mouth was almost watering as he thought about it. "What are you making?" asked Troy to Ysabel who let go of Troy and moved next to him to check herself out for a moment. "Making tacos, chips n' salsa, guac, also made some street corn." said Ysabel to Troy who smirked.

Street corn was something that Ysabel introduced to Troy way back in the day. It was just corn on the cob covered in spices and Troy fell in love with it. "You know I'd figured I have to do what I can to impress your friend with benefits." teased Ysabel to Troy who just playfully smack Ysabel on the butt. She then chuckled and left heading back into the kitchen where she got the table set up. Droopy the puppy bloodhound was asleep in his kennel.

It was then their was a knock at the door and Ysabel let out a heavy sigh. "Try to be nice, be friendly." she said to herself softly. She then walked to the door and opened it as she smiled at Mallory and the guy who was with her. "Hey welcome! Come on in." said Ysabel in a friendly tone as she smiled at them.

"Umph! Dying!" Mallory moaned. "Why is this friggin' thing so tight!? I'm literally the same size as I was when I last wore it!"

Mal snagged the bit of dress that was crawling up her butt. Should she have worn a thong underneath? Would that help? No, it would definitely make things worse. Maybe she just wasn't used to wearing dresses anymore. And why was she dressing up at all? Oh yeah, because her mom had told her it was the neat thing to do.

"Same length honey." Marlene said. "Not the same size!"

"Oh gee thanks mom!" Mallory answered. "Real confidence boost! Goddammit, I practically hoofed it from California to Georgia you'd think I'd be in great shape!"

"Swear!" her sister Chloe spoke as she hugged a pluchee of Tod, from the movie the Fox and the Hound.

"Sorry Clo." Mal said, then caressed her sister on the head.

"Oh but you are in great shape sweetie! For your age that is..."

Marlene snickered, then turned around and grabbed a bottle of perfume, spraying it on Mallory's chest. Mallory let out a cough, then gave her mother a sour look.

"I suppose that's a hint that I smell as well?" Mal said. "I showered at the school and had Mikayla wax my armpits!"

"Real Southern ladies always make sure to smell like flowers honey!" Marlene answered. "Speaking of which, maybe you oughta cover that up?"

Marlene pointed at the USMC tattoo Mallory had on her wrist. Mallory now looked ever more sour at her mother and grunted visibly annoyed.

"Okay mom, A.) You're from the South, not me." Mal spoke. "Last time we were there I was like what, fourteen? And B.) I was a Marine, part of me will always be a Marine, and I wear this tattoo with pride! And again, I'm going to Troy's! You know, biker dude? Covered in tattoos?"

Marlene rolled her eyes. "Oh I never did understood that Faraday bravado..." she spoke. "Your Dad would smirk at me if he was here..."

It was quiet for a moment as both mother and daughter thought about Abe, it was broken by the sound of the doorbell ringing.

"That's Jake." Mal said, then grabbed a nice black leather jacket Marlene had picked out for her.

"Well, you two have fun!" Marlene said. "Just make sure you're back by morning okay?"

"MOM! SERIOUSLY!"

Shaking her head, Mal opened the door. It seems Jake had dressed for the occasion as well, wearing a white shirt and a blazer without a tie and beige chinos with leather shoes.

"Hey, you look great!" Jake greeted Mallory. "And I thought I was overdressed!"

"Uhhh... yeah." Mal answered. "Not my initial choice."

Closing the door behind her Mallory saw Jake had another surprise; the Chevrolet Chevelle SS454 he drove back in high school.

"Hah, unbelievable!" Mal said. "The Chevelle, you still have it!"

"Yeah, got inspired by what you're doing with your old man's Impala." Jake answered. "Figured I'd wipe off the dust, give her some lovin'..."

Like a gentleman, Jake held the door open for Mallory. She figured why not. Oh, the memories she had of this car. Making out with Jake, racing through the island, doing it on the back seat... Okay, maybe that's was a memory not appropriate for conversation right now.

Jake started the car and started driving towards Ysabel and Troy's house. Along the way, they passed a couple of Mariner soldiers patrolling.

"Justin's watch commander tonight, right?" Mal asked.

"Yeah. And Mikayla's got the morning." Jake answered. "Which means we have twenty-four hours of not giving a damn!"

"Great. I need the break honestly."

"Same here."

Mallory looked out the windows. Lit streetlights, houses with the light on,... they had done well at the dam. Now they had weapons and electricity. Next up would be fuel, then animal nurseries, food plantations... also a coming wedding as soon as Ziggy, Ayita, Sara and the others got back from Wisconsin. But not tonight though. Tonight would be about cheer and good food. Hopefully.

"So... Claudia practically butchered those kids today..." Jake spoke as he turned a corner, trying to make conversation.

"I know, I saw." Mal answered.

"What? You were there?"

"Yeah, in the treeline near the sportsfield. She didn't see me. You honestly think I wouldn't let her give her first PE class unsupervised did you?"

"Hah! Should've known better I guess! And what did you think of it?"

"Rough but... I'ma let her do her thing. The kids who weren't with us in the forest... they need the discipline and exercise."

"Speaking of, she was real praising about your cousin... Kinsley? Maria Ramirez too. Thinks the Galytsin girl has potential too."

"Galytsin girl?"

"Yeah, what's her first name... uhm... Gabrielle?"

"Oh Gabby! Right, right! Kinsley would bring her over when she and the rest of her family would stay at our place. Her parents had that small importbusiness down at the docks right?"

Mallory suddenly remembered Gabrielle Galytsin very clearly. Her parents were Russian immigrants, imported Russian vodka, caviar and the like into the US. Mallory's father would often joke that their hangar was were the Kalashnikovs were stored if shit ever hit the fan.

"Right." Jake answered. "Say, did you spend any time with Kinsley or Bryan at all? Since we all got back from the forest?"

"I see Allie on a regular basis since she's in the militia now." Mal answered. "I suppose I should spend more time with Kinsley and Bryan... they're family after all. I can't say I really know them too well though... Kinsley was born right after I enlisted and Bryan when I was about three years in."

"Well, you should Mal. I know Kinsley is trying to live up to being your cousin. Claudia says so too."

"And I am proud of her. Really. Allie and Bryan too. I'll make an effort."

After having said that, Jake turned the corner and they arrived at Troy's house. Jake took a bottle of red wine from the back seat, and together they walked up to the door, ringing the bell. Troy and Ysabel greeted them, to which Mal smiled.

"Hey guys!" Mal greeted them. "Troy, you know Jake. Ysabel, you look lovely."

"Brought some wine!" Jake said. "Courtesy of one Big Di... errr... Grandus Phallus, if you catch my drift."

"Jake, house with small children!" Mal joked. "Watch the swearing!"

Mal and Jake followed their hosts inside, and Mal looked around.

"So how are you liking the house?" Mal asked. "It looks cozy, love what you did with the place!"

Truth be told Mal didn't have a clue if Ysabel or Troy had done anything with the place. She only knew enough not to paint 'Live Love Laugh' on the wall. Mal then noticed the puppy in the kennel.

"Oh heyyyyyy pupper!" Mal said as she caressed Droopy. "Who's the cutest? You are! Yes, you are!"

Mal figured not to use the word 'bloodhound' since it sounded somewhat terrible. There was no sign of the kids yet but still, they could pop up at any given moment. Mal saw the potential of breeding bloodhounds for the settlement though.

"So anything I can do to help?" Mal asked as she took of her jacket. "And where are the kiddos? Heard your oldest had her first day of school today?"

Ysabel was all smiles as was Troy when Mal and Jake walked in. Troy immediately noticed that Mallory looked damn good in a dress that he had to due a double take but he shook his head lightly trying to shake off his dirty thoughts. 'Focus dumbass you are with Ysabel and if she catches you looking at Mallory then you're fucked.' he thought as he took his eyes off Mallory. Luckily Ysabel didn't catch Troy and she decided to give them a tour of the house.

The living room had a hippie/cozy vibe to it. Ysabel and the kids did it while Troy took care of his room aka "man-cave". "This is the living room and it's has a bit of a Feng shui feel to it. Me and the kids did it one day as a fun project." said Ysabel to Mallory and Jake. She then looked at Troy and he knew that from her smirk she wanted to show him his room. Troy let out a heavy sigh. "Sure go ahead." said Troy casually and Ysabel was smiling so big it made her night. "Alright awesome! This room over here is Troy's "mancave". You know I think you are going to love it Jake...All the other Hell-I mean Demon Dogs enjoy it." she said to the duo mainly Jake but corrected herself as she nearly mentioned the Hell-Riders. She opened the room and as she did the room was filled with posters mainly of chicks but bikes were there as well. A pool table was in the middle of the room but near the pool table were a couch and chairs even a mini fridge. Near the chairs was a small table and on the table were a few joints. Troy quickly walked over to grab them and put them away. "Sorry about that...Cutler must have left those." said Troy softly.

Once the joints were put away in a cabinet The tour continued on into the kitchen and the dining room and this was Ysabel's thing. The kitchen was her own little dojo in a sense and she was going to make it a thing to teach the kids some of her recipes. When they arrived Mallory asked if their was anything she could do to help. Ysabel paused for a moment. "Uh yeah actually. If want you can check to see if the corn is ready then slice up some onions. Troy baby how about you go to the living room with Jake and you two decide on music." said Ysabel to Troy who knew that she was trying to get him out so that she could have some one on one time with Mallory. The biker just nodded and opened the fridge pulling out to bud lights handing one to Jake. "You can drink right? I mean your not on the clock?" asked Troy jokingly to Jake. "Mallory if you want a beer help yourself." he said to his best friend casually. Troy then lead Jake to the living room and this was really the first time Troy hung out with the soldier. "So you and Mallory eh? Heard you two used to date way back in the day." said the biker as he was flipping through his vinyl collection. "You see anything you like man just let me know." said Troy as he was passing him the records one at a time.

Ysabel was cutting up some tomatoes while Mallory was with her. "So how is everything going with you? I mean Troy told me you guys recently just made good with another settlement. Honestly that's pretty good. We should worry about the dead keep them away from all this." said Ysabel to Mallory but she kept her eyes on the tomatoes she was cutting.

Being led around the art of Feng Shui was being mentioned. Although it sounded like a Chinese dish, Mallory knew it was that one thing in which people would arrange their house so it would be in some sort of balance. It was definitely something else than that 'New England devil may care where you put the damn thing' arrangement of furniture they had going on at her house.

Troy's mancave was something else though. It had the makings of an MC Clubhouse and Troy said to Jake he would like it. Although the two of them were completely different, Troy seemed to really make an effort which Mallory appreciated. Mallory could see at Jake's face he didn't quite approve of the joints though. The blame went to Cutler but Mal had a feeling that wasn't the case. And where on earth did they keep getting weed from?

"Speaking of cannabis, at some point we're gonna have to discuss building a growery." Mal said. "Not that I want everyone in this town getting stoned out of their gourd, but we need to start thinking medicinal. Cassie and Mom think so too."

Mal knew there were people with chronic pains, epilepsy and any other ailments that could be helped with CBD oil. If Troy and the rest of the bikers had the know-how to make it, she'd dedicate a great piece of land or one of the municipal building for it.

When Mal went into the kitchen with Ysabel, Troy took Jake into the living room. He asked Jake about Mal and Jake's previous relationship, to which Jake chuckled a bit as he went through the records.

"Yeah, all through high school." Jake answered. "Her brother Quinn was my best friend, we were in the Rangers together before he got into Delta. He actually dated Claudia back in high school. Only man capable of handling that wildcat I say..."

Jake sighed. All those memories. He found a Dire Straits album and handed it to Troy.

"Mal and I... we separated after high school." Jake continued. "She joined the Marines, I joined the Army... we decided not to kid ourselves. Stayed friends though. That's about it."

Back in the kitchen Ysabel had asked Mal to help chop up some onions after she checked on the corn. Something told Mal Mexican food was on the menu. Ysabel asked about Coalport, well it was fine so far, and about keeping the dead away.

"So far so good." Mal answered. "They were a great help in getting the dam up and running. Their leader seems on the level. We have both our people and theirs guarding the dam right now. As for keeping the dead away, now that our engineers are back I'm assembling a task force that is gonna make every house dead proof."

Mal pointed at the windows and the openings in the room.

"Barred windows everywhere for one." Mal continued. "Sure it messes with the aesthetics of things but we have to go for safety now. Then, compartilization is key. Every room in the house closed by a door, even the beginning and the end of the staircase. Adding holes in the ceiling in multiple rooms with a detractable ladder to seek safety upstairs... But it sounds worse than it is. We're going to try it out first on one of the empty houses."

Mal finished up slicing the onions and threw them in a bowl. She then took some water from one of the buckets and washed them above the sink.

"And a stone wall around the entire town once we find a quarry and clear it." Mal continued. "Towers, everything... even if it sounds overkill we're still doing it. We're not half-assing anything!"

Mal leaned on the counter for a moment. Then looked at Ysabel.

"So, did you give thought on what kind of job you want here?" Mallory asked Ysabel. "You don't have to worry about getting camp credits, apart from the militia everything pays the same..."

Mallory was real interested to see what Ysabel would want. She'd hate to assign her to something she'd hate doing.

Troy listened to Jake as he was going through the records with him. Seemed him and Mallory were high school sweethearts before calling it quits when she joined the Marines and he joined the Army. Apparently Mal's brother dated Claudia and that fact made him chuckle. "You gotta have balls of steel to handle that woman." he said half jokingly to Jake. When an album was given to him he looked at it for a moment as he didn't recognize it but he played it anyway. As the record played he sat back on the sofa and took a sip from his beer. He thought about asking him if he was going to date her again but he didn't want to pry into that just yet maybe after a few more beers. "So what's going on with the Militia? Any chance are we going to look into Coalport?" he asked Jake deciding to change the subject. "You know Mal was suspicious of them at first and I'm not gunna lie I thought she was being paranoid but now looking back at it...Something seemed off. They had workers with them but they were in jumpsuits and when I tried to get near them the soldier who stopped me gave me a frequency. I've tried that frequency since we've been back and nothing yet." said Troy to Jake. He took another sip from his beer before waiting to hear his opinion on it.

In the kitchen the corn was done and Ysabel took it over of the oven as she heard Mal's plans for Bar Harbor. She was impressed with this woman's determination to see things through. She chuckled as she heard her say that they weren't going to do anything half-assed. "You got a Militia, and a MC watching your back. Trust me Troy and those boys earned those vests back in the day. They don't do anything half-assed well...Mostly." said Ysabel with a light chuckle to Mallory. When asked about if she gave any thought to a job she felt like the spotlight was on her at that moment and she had been giving it some thought. "If I wanted to help out with supply runs does that mean I would have to officially join the Militia?" asked Ysabel to Mallory. "I mean besides helping out at the arcade bar I was thinking maybe I could help out with inventory you know? Make sure we are up to date on whatever." she said to Mallory as she was now setting up the table. But one thing was bothering her and she had to ask Mallory about it. "So...I know Troy was with another woman before I got here. Some girl named Sara when she gets back are we going to have a problem?" she asked Mallory. The last thing she wanted was to have an angry mob at her house.

Jake leaned against the couch and crossed his arms as he heard Troy out about the people from Coalport. There was indeed something off about them, although he had always believed they had the same kind of thing going on as they did in Bar Harbor; people having sided with the wrong crowd and paying their dues through work. Jake had fraternized some with the army guys from Coalport, but it might be possible they had put a smokescreen in front of him. But if Mallory thought there was more playing...

"Thing is Troy, I've learned that if a Faraday says something's not right, they're usually spot on." Jake answered. "Quinn and Abe had great instincts. Mal too. Unfortunately if something shady is going on there, we can't be the ones to make it right. Not now. And we need those guys to help us defend the dam. But I'll look into it on the down-low."

Jake then remembered; Bridget Aldridge, she was getting real familiar with that English boy from Coalport...

"There's Bree Aldridge though..." Jake continued. "You know, small blonde, terrible driver? I think she got a little romance going on with one of their guys. Maybe if she brings him here at some point we can corner him... amicably. Maybe get him liquored up to loosen his tongue."

Back in the kitchen Mallory had grabbed herself a beer. She took a sip and savored it. Soon they'd be out of the nectar of the hops. Ziggy had offered to look into getting a little brewery going on as soon as they got back from Wisconsin which was okay with Mal, as long as they wouldn't waste valuable resources. The harvest was coming, and from what Mal had heard it would be bountiful enough. Mal listened to Ysabel's questions about work.

"Well... no." Mallory answered Ysabel's question if she'd have to join the militia. "But it's usually under militia escort though. Lieutenant Forrester, Mikayla, she's the procurement officer. You can go see her in the morning if you wanna know what's what. Her office is in the mess hall, you can usually find her there."

As far as Sara Ramirez went, Mal just sighed. Oh, if only Troy had been able to keep it in his pants... But if he saw a latina girl all the blood from his head rushed to the lower regions...

"I honestly don't know." Mal said. "She's naieve and a romantic... and her group of friends is tight as hell. But, were I you, I'd get her friends Ziggy and Ayita on your side first. They're like sisters to Sara but I'm sure they'll hear you out first. But whatever you do, don't go on the offense against Sara, no matter what she does. Ziggy's real protective about her friends and she has a tendency to get violent if you touch Sara, and the others are likely to join in then. Ellie and Thomas are the most reasonable of the group, but they don't have that much sway over Sara, not like Ziggy and Ayita."

Mal paused for a second. She realized she made those kids sound dangerous, which in some way they were, but not in everyday life.

"Look, they're good kids okay?" Mal continued. "And everyone pretty much likes them. It's just that... they know how to fight. Pretty much because we taught them to. They'll listen to reason, but I don't think they'll react well if things get heated, that's all. Oh and they own the arcade bar so..."

Ysabel had expressed wanting to work there too. Which would probably not happen if things escalated. From what Mal could tell Ysabel seemed blunt and spoke her mind, she seemed to go easily on the defense too, which was understandable if you knew what environment she grew up in.

"As for Sara's parents..." Mal spoke. "We have her father on a short leash. He collaborated with the other side so we got him on indentured servitude. Still, since Sara and Maria were on our side we gave him his freedom back, for their sake. Their mother though, Camila, well... And they both really, REALLY, hate Troy's guts."

Mal shrugged and awkwardly grinned. She honestly couldn't blame Troy for that though, he had made the effort to get on their good side and it wasn't his fault they didn't accept him.

"But you know, we'll cross that bridge when we get to it." Mal said. "For now, let's just have a good time shall we?"

Troy listened to Jake as he said that a Faraday was usually spot on if something wasn't right but he was slightly relieved when he said he would look into it. When Bree was brought up into the mix with her having small thing with the English guy Troy nodded as he knew her and he had met him although it was briefly. He did like the idea of getting him liquored up although all that matter was timing. "We could bring him here or maybe if we are lucky enough he has a shift at the dam with Bree. I have a feeling she would have a better chance at loosening his lips then we could." said Troy half jokingly. Troy took a sip from his beer as he listened to the record playing the vinyl. He grab a pen nearby and wrote down the frequency on a notepad that the soldier had given him and he handed the notepad to Jake. "That's what he gave me. I've tried so far nothing but static but who knows we might catch a break." said Troy to Jake.

Inside the kitchen Ysabel had just finished setting up the table as she heard Mal say that she would need to talk to a woman, Lieutenant Mikayla Forrester was her name and she had a office in the mess hall. Well that was one thing out of the way now came the bigger problem which was this Sara girl. Mallory said that she didn't know if their would be any problems but not to attack her even if this Sara girl went on the offense. "I'm just saying she swings first, it's fair game." said Ysabel to Mallory in a calm yet slightly annoyed. Hearing that this girl had a tight group of friends she nodded along thinking it would be best to get them on her side if anything should come to it. When she mentioned Sara's parents and how they hated Troy she could understand that stigma. "Well I can relate to it. When we were in Florida a couple years ago I met his nephew Kyle and his wife Anna. She didn't like Troy one bit and well she didn't like me. She gave me vibes of a stuck up bitch who never took that pole out of her ass. She acted real smug like she was better then everyone." said Ysabel to Mallory.

She just looked at Mallory and smiled at the woman. "Yeah let's have a good time." said Ysabel to Mallory. Ysabel went out to the living room to see what Jake and Troy were up too. "Hey boys dinner is ready." said Ysabel as she smiled at them. "Alright let's eat." said Troy to Jake. He stood up and walk towards the dining room where the table was set up. He pulled out a chair for Ysabel and she smiled as she wasn't expect that from Troy. "Wow being a real gentleman tonight." teased Ysabel to Troy who smirked and sat next to her. Once Mallory and Jake sat down Troy and Ysabel just smiled at their guests. "Dig in guys." said Ysabel to her guests. Troy was grabbing the corn and Ysabel was grabbing some chips and salsa. "So Jake tell me about yourself? I just recently arrived here and I know nothing about you." said Ysabel with a light chuckle.

Jake inspected the radio Troy gave him, then looked up at Troy with a questioning look. "Why would he'd give this to you?" Jake asked, wondering whether or not the person who gave it to him wanted them to uncover something. Jake then gave the radio back. "If anything turns up, you let me know." he said to Troy.

When it was finally time to eat Mallory helped serve the food before taking a seat herself. She wasn't the type to take food as the first so she waited until Troy and Jake had helped themselves before helping herself to some chicken and corn. When Ysabel asked Jake to tell about himself Mal looked at Jake with a crooked smile. Jake wasn't a boaster, quite the contrary, he had always been very humble despite what he had achieved in his life and Mal knew Jake wasn't the type of guy who liked to be the center of attention or talk about himself for that matter.

"Yeah Jake, do tell us about yourself." Mal said teasingly, knowing it made him uncomfortable. Had Mal been the one asking he probably would've given her a hard no but since Ysabel was the one asking she knew Jake couldn't refuse.

"Ehm... me?" Jake said. "Well... I was born here, raised here, like most. Joined the army right out of high school, did a few tours in Afghanistan and Iraq. I actually served with Mal's brother until he got into Delta. Came back, worked with my old man on a fishing boat until I could start at the police academy. End of the world put an end to that plan though... Helped Mal's dad run the town until the... well... coup d'état I suppose you'd call it."

"Weren't no coup." Mal interrupted. "Coups sometimes turn out for the better. Fuckin' mutiny is what it was..."

Mal stuck another piece of chicken in her mouth. It still made her angry. Picking up on it Jake decided to finish up the subject.

"Anyway after the... mutiny... I lived in the forest with what mostly consisted of kids from here." Jake continued. "Helped train them. Truth be told I was never too good in disciplining, so I'm glad Claudia stepped up in that department."

Jake paused a second. Although he didn't always agree with Claudia's methods and was the milder one of the two, he hated to think what would've become of those kids if Claudia hadn't acted the way she did.

"Honestly I... eh... the first days in the forest..." Jake then continued. "All those cold, hungry and scared kids and us being one of the few adults... If Claudia hadn't started acting the way she did at that point... probably none of us would have made it past that point. She got them focused on something else, putting them to work... At first the kids were scared of her, fearing her wrath if they didn't perform the tasks she gave them. A few weeks in though, we got a working, functioning camp and their spirits were greatly improved. Despite her constant yelling and belittleing them, it seemed they became more afraid of disappointing her than afraid of what she might do to them. Teaching them how to fight gave them hope too. Persistance as well. The harder Claudia would knock them down the faster they seemed to be getting up again. I honestly don't know if I could've done that."

Jake looked at Mallory who was listening with interest as she nibble on a chicken bone. "Hey, don't stop on my account!" Mal said. "You're doing a great job, keep going!" Jake just chuckled.

"Of course at that point our little long lost, believed to be dead, daughter of Bar Harbor and her biker sidekick here swooped in with more people and weapons we could've hoped for and saved the day!" Jake joked.

"Hah, you're the sidekick!" Mal said to Troy, pointing at him. "Eat that mister MC President!"

Mal had of course never thought of either Troy nor Cassie as her sidekicks, and she was sure Troy would see the joke in that. Mal wiped her hands from chicken grease and then looked at Ysabel.

"So Ysabel, Troy spoke a bit of you while we were on the road." Mal said. "It seemed painful to him at the time so I never pushed him to elaborate but since you're alive and kicking, how about telling us about you huh? How'd you guys meet? And how did you get here? It seems you must've almost did the same parcours to get here we did?"

Well maybe not entirely the same Mal figured. She hadn't heard anything about Ysabel running into those damn cannibals or anything, which was good. Still, Mal wanted to know more, like how the redhead girl got to be under her care. She was obviously too old to be Ysabel's real daughter. As she waited for Ysabel to do her story, Mal started opening the bottle of wine she brought.

Ysabel ate her tacos as she listened to Jake talk about himself. He seemed rather nervous and shy Ysabel figured that he wasn't much of a talker maybe he liked to keep things to himself. None the less she and Troy knew a lot about him. The two of them listened to Jake's story about the early days in the forest and Troy in a way felt good about helping them when they did as Frank wanted to bounce as soon as they got her home. When he heard Jake's comment about being the "biker sidekick" and Mal's response. Troy just pointed at Mallory and smirked at his friend. "Watch it now." he teased her as he knew she was joking. When the question of how Troy and Ysabel met the Hispanic woman looked at Troy with as smile and she raised her eyebrows slightly as she had not told that story in so long.

"Well we met at a dive bar in Georgia...It was called Moxie's Bar. It had a sort of vintage look to it and the drinks were great. But yeah I remember I was with my friends at the time and we were just dancing away, having drinks, just a good time overall. We noticed the gang of bikers that had walked in and it's just common knowledge to not mess with them but I grew up around gangs so it didn't bother me. I saw Troy with Frank from across the bar and ordered the two men shots. It was a few hours later and a few more drinks before I decided to go over to him." said Ysabel to Mallory. She then looked at Troy as a smile appeared on her face. "I remember you were sitting at a table all by yourself and I thought what the hell are you doing sitting alone? You honestly looked like a lost puppy." said Ysabel to Troy who shook his head lightly and took a sip from his beer. "Yeah well I mean Frank was taking shots with the gang, Cutler was doing hatchet throwing and I was just sitting by making sure nothing got out of hand." said Troy to Ysabel and the others. Ysabel then looked back at Mallory and Jake. "Well then I got enough liquid courage to go talk to him and I'm not gunna lie he tried to smooth talk me at first. But we flirted for a little bit and then we left together...I think I knew he was the one when the morning after we met he made pancakes. I had forgotten it was Monday and Rosa came home in the morning. I thought he was going to bail because I didn't tell him about my daughter but to my surprise he stayed for breakfast and he made Rosa smile which I hadn't seen her do in a long time." said Ysabel as she reached out and gently rubbed Troy's back. "It was then I knew that he could be the one." said Ysabel softly with a smile as she looked at Troy.

The young couple smiled at one another before Ysabel turned back to Mallory and Jake as she remembered her second question. "Well when this started me and Rosa were in Texas. We were held up at a movie theater with a few others for awhile but the leader Miles thought of using the women as bargaining chips to pay for supplies with other groups. This caused some fighting within the group and I left with Rosa. For awhile it was just me and her...It was like that for a long time until we came across a woman in a SWAT vehicle, I mean honestly I thought it was a tank but she offered us a ride and all she wanted was an interview with me. She wanted to hear my story so I told her I was planning to go back to Georgia to find my fiancé. The woman her name was Althea and she was a journalist. She believed that doing these interviews, listening to people's stories...It gave her a purpose at least that's what she told me. So she drove me and Rosa to Dallas and helped us find a car. After that we got to Georgia and I went to the clubhouse only to find it destroyed, but I remembered about a warehouse where they had guns stashed. I needed a gun after an incident happened to me...But I went there and he wasn't there but some survivors were. They told me that the Hell-Riders had left for Maine. Eventually I met Haley, Katey and Sophia at a gas station outside of Atlanta." said Ysabel to the trio.

Troy started to laugh and he had to look away for a moment as he took in a few deep breaths to regain his composure. "That's crazy you know? Because me and Mallory here also met at a gas station outside of Atlanta I believe...What a crazy world." said Troy as he smirked at Mallory. "I mean Cassie was there as well but damn that's just crazy." said Troy to the trio. He then turned to Ysabel and felt embarrassed as he interpreted her. "My bad babe continue." said Troy softly to Ysabel who continued. "Well we obviously stuck together but we took a detour headed into Canada. Figured it would be safer than going through New York. But yeah it wasn't...Kinda made me realize that no place is safe. I mean not anymore." said Ysabel to the group. She was silent for a moment as she stared at her plate and Troy looked concerned. "Hey Ysabel...What happened?" asked Troy to Ysabel who broke out of her thoughts as she looked to Troy and then Mallory and Jake. "We brought in a girl with her. You might have met her Hannah. Her father is named Alec and he is a slave trader up there. I didn't know when to bring this to you but I figured now would be the best time." said Ysabel to Mallory.

Mal just smiled as Ysabel told the story about her and Troy meeting. It seemed so romantic given the circumstances. It made Mal realize she never had a real romantic relationship after she broke up with Jake. She had always been so focused, whether it was in the Marine Corps or in college afterwards. Sure, she had fun with guys; she wasn't a total nun but as far as romance went, it had been a very long time.

With the next part Mal couldn't help but feel impressed. A SWAT van with machineguns? And it being operated with a woman called Althea who was only interested in interviewing people. Now there was something she had never heard before. Now Mal wanted machineguns. And to be interviewed. Who knew, maybe this Althea would one day find her way to Bar Harbor and maybe even start the very first post-apocalyptic newspaper, or news channel. The part about Ysabel meeting the people she came in with the same way Mal met Troy and Cassie made her chuckle though.

"Well, I suppose gas stations are sort of a place to be I guess." Mal said after Troy had said it was crazy. "Can't count on everyone being as nice as I was to Troy here after I caught him with his pants down. I even let him keep that sawed-off of his!"

Mal chuckled at the memory of their first meeting, then looked at Troy. "Then again, I knew long before he realized it himself that he was one of the good guys!" Mal said, then gave Troy a quick wink.

The next part was more difficult to swallow. A slave trader? Mal and Jake looked at eachother for a moment, thinking the same thing; to do something about it. Yet, at the same time they both realized it was not an option. Not yet at least. But the thought disgusted Mal, even if the existence of slavers didn't surprise her. Then another bomb was dropped and Mal stopped what she was doing, almost dropping her fork when Ysabel told her that the main slavers daughter had come with them and was now in Bar Harbor.

"God... DAMMIT!" Mal cursed. "Shit!"

Mal sighed, then kept her hand in front of her face as she leaned on the table, thinking. That was just great, wasn't it? They took with them the daughter of a slaver, who in all of his psychopathy probably thought Ysabel and her group had abducted the girl. Could be Alec didn't know Bar Harbor existed, or had any notion that Hannah was kept there. It didn't mean he wasn't out there searching though. And at some point, Bar Harbor would probably come onto his radar though, especially if it kept growing the way it did. And now they also had the dam to worry about, even if it was joint venture with Coalport. And Canada wasn't exactly that far away, now was it?

"Alright, alright..." Mal said. "Look Ysabel, I'm gonna need you and everyone who was with you while you met the slavers to come in for questioning first thing tomorrow morning. And I want to meet this Hannah. If there are slavers out there, I wanna know everything about them."

Mal was silent for another moment, then folded her hands. "Fuck me..." she muttered. Mal knew that they would have to fight against human opposing forces at some point again and even though every fiber in her being wanted to launch a full-on military campaign to kill the slavers and free the slaves, it was not an option at this point in time. They had the numbers and weapons, but the Bar Harbor militia wasn't properly trained yet and Mal needed every able body to help build the settlement's defenses and guard the island. They also had the dam to worry about now and there were way more important things that needed solving if Bar Harbor was to survive and thrive. As much as it pained Mal thinking about it, the slaves were going to have to wait.

Hearing of this Alec and his slave trade group sent a shiver down Troy's spine and the thought of this man also sent a shiver down Ysabel's spine. When Mal told Ysabel to bring in the people she came with she nodded. "Yeah no problem." said Ysabel softly. It was then the dinner table was silent for a moment and then Troy took a sip from his beer before making a suggestion. "Could have Coalport and the Hell-Riders come in on this. I mean three communities coming together to stop this asshole...I mean look Frank is a asshole but he's not a fucking asshole, he would be willing to help us with this if we bring it to the table." said Troy to Mallory. Ysabel looked over at Troy in disbelief as she couldn't believe what she was hearing. "Are you joking? Tell me your joking. That man tried to have me killed the night we got engaged and Rosa was at home sleeping when I got home with Roger. Now thank god Roger went behind Frank's back but think about it what if it was Warren he sent out or any other cocksucker? I wouldn't be here." said Ysabel to Troy who completely understood where she was coming from it was hard to argue that point. Still though it was a necessary evil that they could use to their advantage but he knew now if he were to continue they would just argue and it would be awkward for their guests to see especially after hearing how they met.

He decided to change the subject after he took another sip from his beer. "You know Mal some of the locals here wanted to join the Demon Dogs? I just gotta see if they are biker material first." said Troy to Mal. Hearing that made Jake smirk and the man wiped his mouth with a napkin before commenting. "Biker material? What's that? Making sure they can ride a bike?" asked Jake to Troy who smirked.

"Well ride a bike, handle a gun, party like an animal. You should join Jake you would be able to let loose." said Troy jokingly to Jake who just smirked and shook his head. "Nah I'm fine with the militia someone's gotta keep law and order in this town." said Jake to Troy who just shrugged and turned his attention back to Mallory. "Say Mallory when can me and the MC get a Clubhouse? You know for our fun activities." asked Troy as he winked at Mallory. Ysabel saw the wink and Troy instantly regretted it she saw Mal winked at Troy earlier but didn't say anything.

"So like when you two were on the road together are you sure you didn't fuck?" asked Ysabel to Mallory in a annoyed tone. Troy nearly spit out his sip of beer and coughed as he was choking slightly. "Ysabel are you kidding me I told you-" said Troy before he was cutoff by Ysabel. "No Troy I want to know! So tell me Mallory did you fuck my fiancée? Like that Sara girl." asked Ysabel to Mallory as she looked at her.

Troy suggested bringing in Frank and Coalport, to which Mal just shook her head. She folded her hands and leaned on the table, closing her eyes for a moment. Mal knew she couldn't risk the Bar Harbor militia, not now. She pondered on what to do. An all-out assault wasn't possible but maybe they could cripple the slavers' operation for the time being. Jack had experienced soldiers under his command, maybe with a small group they could free the slaves in a hit and run mission. But the preparations would require time.

"I'll send scouts once we have all the information." Mal said. "After that I'll arrange a meeting with Jack to discuss the matter. For now let's keep Frank out of the equation."

Mal knew Frank's help had a price. If the slavers would have something worth getting Frank would probably want it. And they'd have to give it to him.

"Good." Jake chimed in. "This matter will take time. For now let's just focus on scouting the place. And hope they don't come knocking first to get that Hannah girl."

Things then took a more lighter turn when Troy began about local folks joining the Demon Dogs, for which Mal was grateful. Troy invited Jake to join but Mal just smiled when Jake said he had to keep law and order. Troy asked Mal when they could get a clubhouse to which Mal shrugged. Empty houses and businesses were really a dime a dozen at this point.

"Well, just pick one I'd say." Mal answered. "But I assume you'll want something dank and dark right? A real hole?"

Mal chuckled and chewed on a piece of meat, clearing her mouth before speaking again.

"Think Leary's Landing on Main Street will do the trick." Mal continued. "Old Irish pub. I think you'll like it. Place has seen quite some destruction from fighting over the years, what's a little more right?"

Jake chuckled too. "Oh God, Leary's Landing..." he said. "Good times..."

Mal reminisced about the old times for a second, but was brutally torn out of them when Ysabel apparently still couldn't grasp the fact that Mal and Troy had never slept with eachother. Mal sighed, swallowed the piece of chicken she had in her mouth and dipped her mouth with a napkin before taking a deep breath. She knew joking about it and laughing it away would probably anger Ysabel more, or make her distrust about it grow even more.

"Ysabel, I will not deny Troy and I are very close." Mal started. "But not because of what you think. There are other things than love and lust that can form a tight bond between people. Having to fight together, bleed together, undergoing hardships and making tough decisions. We did all that, even the bleeding. We were ambushed and literally strung up by our legs upside down by cannibals. We got out of our binds and made the decision together not to allow them to do to other people what they did to us, so we did what had to be done."

Mal looked at Troy, then bit her lip for a moment before continuing. Jake just stared down, having already heard the story.

"Once the smoke cleared, none of them were left alive except for one little boy." Mal said. "And we let him go, hoping he could be different. I don't know if he did, but he deserved a chance. But we weren't done yet. Cassie was holed up in a cabin and under siege by more of them. So we went to get Cassie and there... we let none of them alive."

Mal wasn't sorry about the cannibals, but the image of Cassie chopping up the little girl was still something that haunted her. Mal didn't blame Cassie, but it was something that she just couldn't get out of her head.

"Troy, Cassie and I bear a burden together." Mal continued. "I don't regret what we did there. I love Troy and Cassie like siblings, they're family and that's all there is to it. So yeah, if I hug him, touch him, peck him on the cheek or give him a wink it's because I consider him my brother."

Mal then looked Ysabel square in the eyes. The same penetrating look her old man would give her if he was dead serious. The old 'Faraday stare' her mom would call it. It was meant to make people feel uncomfortable, yet reassured that their suspicions about something were unfounded. And Mal did it just as good as her father.

Troy sat there and listened to what Mal had to say. He thought of Mallory like family simple as that but he could understand where Ysabel was coming from. Maybe it was just a girl thing feeling as if she might have competition? But Troy knew that his true feelings were for Ysabel. The Hispanic girl listened closely to the story as Mallory talked about it. She felt as if a cold draft just hit her as she listened to it. She had been in Bar Harbor for what a few days? Yet Troy hadn't told her about what happened to him on the road and she didn't even ask him what had happened. Once Mallory was done the two women stared at one another. The room was so quiet you could hear a pin drop, Ysabel shook her head lightly and looked to Troy as she took his hand before looking to Mallory. "I'm sorry...I...I had no idea what you guys went through." said Ysabel to Mallory her voice slightly shaking and then she turned to look at Troy. "Why didn't you tell me?" asked Ysabel to Troy who just rubbed the back of his neck for a moment as he stared at the table before turning to look at her. "I thought it would be best if you didn't know. I mean..." said Troy to Ysabel before he shook his head and let out a heavy sigh. "The way the world is now it's just all the same. We are trying to rebuild something here and hopefully once we do the world will be restored over time. So that way no one has to tell the horrific stories of what they went through." said Troy to Ysabel who nodded and then turned to Mallory and Jake. She decided to brighten the mood up and she stood up from her seat for a moment going to the kitchen. Once coming back she had four shot glasses in her hand and a bottle of tequila in the other.

"Well let's celebrate to setting the record straight!" said Ysabel with a smirk. Troy looked at her surprised as he saw the bottle and the glasses. "Where did you-" asked Troy before he was cutoff by Ysabel. "Callie from the Arcade Bar, we really hit it off on the first day I got here and she gave this to me as a welcome gift for coming into the neighborhood." said Ysabel who poured the tequila in the shot glasses along with a lime and salt on the rim. She gave the shots out to Troy and her two guests before getting one for herself. As she sat down she had a smile on her face and Troy took a deep breath before running his hands through his hair. "Been awhile since I've had this...Man I'm not as young as I used to be." said Troy half jokingly. "Cheers to Bar Harbor!" said Troy as he raised up his shot glass. He knew he was going to be in for one hell of a night.

With Ysabel finally content that Troy and Mal had never slept with one another, Mallory relaxed a bit as she listened to Troy explain the rest some more. He hadn't told Ysabel about the cannibals yet, which was understandable. Mal wasn't one to spread it around either, or at least not in that much detail. Then, the fancy tequila was brought out with the explanation that Ysabel had received it as a gift from Callie. Mal believed Ysabel but really wondered whether or not it had truly belonged to Callie, or if it had belonged to the Arcade Bar itself, and by extension belonged to Ziggy, Ayita, Sara and the others.

"I honestly hope it was Callie's to give away..." Mal said. "If not, she's gonna be in big trouble with Ziggy and the others..."

Mal then toasted along with Troy to Bar Harbor, heaving the tequila backwards. She coughed, it had been a long time. As a matter of fact she hadn't touched the stuff ever since having the worst hangover ever from it in her younger years. She didn't plan on doing any more though.

"Not to be impolite, but that's it for me." Mal spoke. "Tequila and I never got along well and I've got a lot on my plate for tomorrow."

Mal wasn't that much of a drinker and could go without for months, hell she already had. She didn't like being drunk or hungover for that matter. And since medication and Aquarius were in low supply nowadays there wasn't much one could do to nurse a hangover. And if she was to interview everyone tomorrow morning about the slavers, she needed a clear head and an easy stomach.

Troy and Ysabel took their shots like a champ and the biker smirked as he heard that Mallory was done for the night. "Yeah I hear ya...I mean it would be tough going to those council meetings hungover am I right Jake?" asked Troy as he looked to Jake who just smirked back and shrugged. "I mean you certainly wouldn't want to be in charge of anything that day." said Jake to Troy. Ysabel chuckled at Jake's comment and just smiled at Mallory. "Well I think one shot is enough for me as well. I mean I do plan on going to see Mikayla in the morning if I am to help on any of the runs soon." she said to the trio. Troy and Ysabel locked eyes and he nodded as he was okay with it. He understood that everyone in the community had to pull their weight one way or another. If they could both go on runs that would be perfect but he knew that he couldn't go with her all the time and vice versa.

"I'll see about getting my boys to help me with setting up our Clubhouse." said Troy to Mallory as he didn't really have anything planned unless Mallory needed him to do something. After another hour of getting to know one another it seemed as if Ysabel was ready to call it a night as she was yawning and looked tired. She walked Jake and Mallory to the door with Troy. "Alright guys well I am going to hit the hay but I really enjoy getting to know you guys tonight and Mallory..." said Ysabel to Mallory as she hugged the woman in a warm embrace. "Thank you for keeping Troy safe." said Ysabel softly. Troy just smiled as he looked at the two of them and he gave Mal a nod. "Alright guys take care and you two are welcomed anytime here." said Troy to Jake and Mallory. Once they left Troy and Ysabel cleaned up the dining room and the two quickly went to bed after that.

The next morning the couple got ready for their day. Troy got an early start as he made breakfast for himself and Ysabel he went to go check on the kids. He quietly opened the door and could see that they were sleeping. He then opened Droopy's cage and he rushed over to the master bedroom, Ysabel woke up to Droopy licking her face and she just smiled and slowly opened her eyes. She gave the puppy a kiss on the head before walking over to the kitchen. Troy had made some cereal and Ysabel took a few bites before asking him something. "So got any plans?" asked Ysabel still somewhat tired as she was trying to wake herself up. "Just fixing up that Irish pub making it more...You know better but hey if Mallory needs something for me then I can't say no to the boss." said Troy casually to Ysabel. She nodded along as he ate her breakfast. "I gotta go see Mikayla about going on a run soon. But I first need to go see Mallory about Alec." said Ysabel to Troy who nodded as he ate his breakfast as well. "Well looks like we will both be busy today." said Troy to Ysabel. She then knocked on the kids door and opened it slowly. "Hey kids I need you up now. Gotta go have a talk with Mallory." said Ysabel to her kids. Rosa stood up and rubbed her eyes before slowly making her way to the kitchen where Troy made her a bowl of cereal and then he made one for Sophia whenever she was ready. The couple then took got their clothes and took a shower at the high school. Once Ysabel got ready she looked to Troy as she wanted his opinion. "How do I look?" asked Ysabel to Troy who shrugged. "You look perfect as always." said Troy to Ysabel who just shook her head lightly and smirked at him as he watched her walk away.
