So Sam requested we get a timeline going so here's what I found out about the official timelines in TWD's universe:
So for the comics Robert Kirkman confirmed the year of the outbreak as 2003. (Source: walkingdead.fandom.com/wiki/Comic_Timeline)
For the TV-shows timeline they confirmed the year of the outbreak was 2010. (Source: walkingdead.fandom.com/wiki/TV_Series_Timeline)
That leaves us here. I've based most of my characters in the year 2015, 3 years before I started this site. Since I never specified a year for this site to be in your characters' years of birth and ages may vary, but don't fuss too much over it. The character applications are locked anyway.
Anyway, in my opinion, for a timeline it would seem silly that we take one of the official timelines from the TWD universe, since we regularly use post-2010 topics and items, such as songs, discussions about games and tv-shows, etc... What I do wish to keep however is the fact that this site is almost 2 years into the apocalypse, since it's been a big factor in our threads.
So my suggestion would be for our timeline the outbreak started in 2018, and the current year is 2019, with the Call of the Siren thread taking place in the fall in early October.
Also, I'm gonna ask the question whether or not you guys want to stick with the TV-shows 'Don't say the Zombie-word' policy. Apparently according to Lauren Cohan Romero movies were never made in the TWD's universe. (Source: walkingdead.fandom.com/wiki/Zombies), or if you guys want to refer to previous zombie movies and games in story threads. Myself, I'm cool sticking to the way it is now.
Thoughts and suggestions are welcome!
