It's Just Who You Are
Likes: God, Music, Nature, Pink, Clothes, People, Running, Hunting, Cards, Camping, Coffee
Dislikes: Prejudiced people, Lazy people, Beer, Drugs, Unnecessary Violence, Whining, Pessimism
Strengths: Pretty, athletic, flexible, confident, good with a gun.
Habits: Driving too fast and using too many bullets, shooting walkers she should probably just stab, and fixing her hair constantly.
Flaws: She has a hard time trusting strangers, and can be rather rash when overconfidence hits. She’s very short, and has little in the market of raw physical strength.
Dreams/goals: Tori’s ultimate goal is to find her family, or at least her former group.
Fears: Tori fears sinning the most, followed by not being able to find her family. She also has a healthy fear of strangers, and a minor phobia of mice, spiders, and snakes. Death doesn’t scare her nearly as much as turning, or living a tortured life.
Overall Personality: Tori is a sweet, conservative girl with a pragmatic, yet bright outlook on life. She’s outgoing and very good at taking initiative, always looking for a way to help herself or those around her. She tries to be encouraging to those around her, and she’s certainly not one to ever give up on anything. When challenged, or when at least she thinks she’s being challenged by someone, she makes it clear she’s not one to step on. If anything about her is going to get on someone’s nerves- it’s her competitiveness, need to be decisive, and her tendency to be passive aggressive when ticked off. She’s often over confident in her abilities, leading her to push herself to her limits.
Even Though Yesterday's Gone
History: Tori Remington was born the middle child in a family of five, her father was a police chief, and former soldier, in their small town in the middle of Upper Peninsula, Michigan. Tori was always active in school, from cheerleading and volleyball to figure skating and student council, she was very popular in her class. She worked odd shifts at a local coffee shop as a barista to afford spending money to hand with her friends, and in the spring of her sophomore year she spent most of it on attending a school trip to Washington, DC.
Her first time traveling to the east coast, it was a whirlwind trip with plenty to see in the nation’s capital. All the while, she enjoyed the company of her boyfriend, Jason, and their mutual friend group. That all changed, on the last day, when their flight home was canceled. The news was showing images of riots in other major cities amid headlines of some sort of virus. Her history teacher and the parent chaperones all shuttled them back into the hotel, and the next few days were spent there dining off emergency rations and vending machine snacks. The next morning was cold, with frost blanketing the cherry blossoms that usually brighten the city as their rooms were rocked by explosions. Tori and Jason snuck up onto the roof to see Apache attack helicopters flying overhead on bombing runs across the nation’s capital. That night, all the students were escorted onto a convoy that took them to a refugee center set up just outside the city in Pennsylvania. They’d live there for a a few months before the virus swept through. Tori was one of the few to survive, being taken in by a group of D.C Metropolitan police officers leaving the failed sanctuary to return to the city. Already it was far changed...rotting bodies, scorched rubble, and the undead had replaced the once beautiful city. The military had all either deserted or been overrun, even the Tomb of the Unknown soldier was quiet, looted for ammo by civilian gangs trying to survive on the streets. All around, the tarts tatta of their guns could scarcely be heard over the moans of those things.
What was left of the Metropolitan and Capital Police cleared out a hospital and barricaded it into a fortress. Tori was adopted into their newly forming group of former officers, doctors, nurses, emergency workers, and firefighters. She proved herself useful in helping around the place. Having grown up around police officers, and having always wanted to be one herself, she fit right in as the ‘daughter’ of the group, being the youngest person there. They gave her a duty belt and what they could spare from their collection of old duty belts. She paid them back by always having something nice to say, and always trying to make the most of the end of the world.
Fast forward a year, and the group finds itself besieged by a herd. Dodging walkers in the night, Tori escapes with a couple officers into the mud and blood soaked back alleys. They’re ambushed a few blocks away by a seemingly random set of men...that turn out to be other, less then reputable, members of their group. Everyone is gunned down by machine gun fire save for the teenage girl who puts up her hands, is bound, and then thrown in the trunk of their Crown Victoria. That trunk becomes her home for the next few days as her kidnappers drive south, until she manages to make her escape.
