"Good, I'm glad." Claudia said to Justin. At least that was one less thing to worry about. She followed him out and went to check on the works on the gate, but it seemed something was going on between the bikers. Troy and some others had enough of Frank it would seem and were laying down their vests in defiance. Claudia just stood by and observed as it went down, apparently a woman was involved, as was Frank's bad leadership which had ruined the MC. Frank had been a royal pain in the ass since day one, even trying to put Claudia against Mal at some point.
Claudia was glad to see Mal had been a good influence on Troy and the other guys. There was a certain aura about her, the same her father had, that would make you want to follow her into hell itself. Claudia hated to admit it, but she had felt it too. Mallory was a born leader and spoke with a charisma she'd never have. In a way Claudia was relieved she wasn't the one in charge. She'd share Mal's burdens sure, but when push came to shove she wouldn't have to make the final decision.
She waited for the bikers to be down putting their vests down in defiance, and then stepped forward herself. These men had been brave enough to defy their corrupted leader, and she felt she should do something for their courage. But politely and nice this time.
"Find everything you need Frank?" Claudia asked. "Looks like you boys had a good haul, I hope it suffices enough as a thank you! Again, those weapons were great! Really glad to have them!"
Looking over some electronics and other expensive looking stuff, Claudia pretended to be interested in the stuff Frank took and pretended to be impressed with how much they had been able to take. Even if these things were freaking useless nowadays.
"So... you're off to Old Orchard Beach now right?" Claudia asked. "How are you going to get back to the mainland? The bridge on Thompson island connecting us to the mainland is still out. And there's no more boats either on the island. Well you might find a leaky rowboat somewhere but it took you guys a couple of days to row your bikes to the island right? And you had to put them apart too. Seems you're gonna lose at least a week rowing back and forth, providing you find a boat."
Claudia already knew all boats were in Bar Harbor and they weren't going to find another decent one. At best they'd be able to build a raft like Ziggy and her friends had done but even then they were going to lose a lot of time. And would a raft really hold the weight of a full motorcycle without sinking? And would all that loot stay dry on a rickety raft as well?
She then walked over to one of the motorcycles, one she liked. Claudia looked it over for a second then let her hand run over the bike for a second. She then swung her leg over and sat on it, holding the handles. Then it became clear who the owner was.
"Hey get your stank ass off my bike bitch!" Warren said. 'Ratface' Warren, one of the nastier ones of the bunch. Claudia knew all too well of course. People in camp had come to call him Ratface because of his facial features. He reminded Claudia of the singer of the Lostprophets, the one that was jailed for paedophilia. Somehow she doubted Warren would check for a girl's age too.
Claudia got off from the bike and looked over the other bikes as well. "You know, they're all kinda cool now that I think about it..." She then faced Frank again.
"Anyway, we've got some boats that are good to go." Claudia continued. "Hell, with the Alarei we can load up you guys and all your loot in one go! Of course you understand we'd be using precious diesel to do so and... you know... you're a businessman right Frank? You would want a little compensation if you were in my shoes too right?"
"Hey fuck you bitch!" another biker said. "We already gave you our guns!"
"And you've been adequately compensated for them." Claudia answered. "As Mal agreed with Frank. Hell she even gave you a couple of UPS vans as a bonus right? Now I believe we should make a new deal to get you boys to the mainland again, right Frank?"
Claudia circled through the stationed bikes once more, looking them over left and right. "You know, these REALLY are cool bikes, why didn't I see that sooner?" Claudia said. As she walked by Troy she winked at him. By now he should've picked up on what she was trying to do here.
