Back to School

Making their way around the building and to the way in they had seen through the window Eden looked to Terry as he spoke about how he thought about food constantly. Chuckling at the notion Eden shook her head. "It's fine, You'll learn though that I'm not exactly that picky when it comes to food." She explained before hearing him apologize again, this time saying that it would be his first date before joking that it had only taken the world going to hell. Chuckling again Eden leaned in.

"Well don't overthink it." She answered quickly.  "Just focus on the moment alright? Don't overthink it and relax. You'll find i'm not that picky when it comes to food." She said kindly. In a way she found his experience on the matter of love endearing to a degree, Having never experianced true love herself as well the only experiences she had to draw on was the stories Serina had told her while they were cuddling after a night of fun. Going back to it she recalled the things she said about the one she had fallen in love with at the place she was at before. A redhead mute that she could tell the world to and not feel like she was being judged. Maybe that was why she had taken a liking to Terry. Looking at the boy she smiled and wondered. 'Could he be the one?'

"And besides." She started to say. "You're cute and kind, And you listen to what I'm saying rather than just brushing me off like Donni tends to do, And you're smart." She continued. "And I'll let you in on a little secret. Brains are my weakness."

"And you were caught staring and It didn't make me angry." Leaning in to whisper in Terry's ear Eden smiled. "In fact it made me happy."

Straightening out again Eden chuckled and winked at him letting him know that she wasn't mad at him, in fact she was flattered and the soft glow in her cheeks proved this fact. Focusing on the task at hand again Eden looked to the door that they had seen on their way in, it's latch broken it hung open enough that they could see the bar that served to keep it shut, a bar that quickly fell with a swing of Jeanie's axe. Watching the door lazily open with a loud creak Eden instinctively checked their surroundings. Seeing nothing she felt a shiver go down her spine. 'if there's nothing around, why do I still feel like we're being watched?' she questioned herself.

Following Jeanie's lead the rest of the group slowly and quietly began making their way into the building, all was going well until Jeanie's clumsiness kicked in and she tripped over something. "Are you okay?" Eden asked with concern, dropping to her knee's along with Gwendy Eden checked her over making sure she was physically unharmed before getting to her feet again.

"Be careful you guys, don't know what or whos around here ya?" Donni said.

Getting to her feet Eden waited for Jeanie to get up as well before returning to Terry's side. They soon found a map of the base and with it they struck gold. Marked buildings with just what they were looking for and more, Hearing Jeanie mention the armory as well as a place called 'Workplace Mechanics' she nodded. "Okay, So we hit the Armory first and gather what weapons and ammo we can find, then we'll make our way over to this 'workplace mechanics' joint and see what it's got. Sound like a plan?"

High above on the roof of the adjacent building Yui lay with her stomach on the hard and hot surface, it was uncomfortable to say the least. Having watched the group enter the building she waited for them to leave, still debating on whether or not she should approach them sooner or later she weighed her options. If she approached them as they made their way out then she ran the risk of being taken captive, But she faced that obstacle either way did she not? The more she thought on it the more she felt the anxiety of the unknown creeping up on her. Sighing she returned to watching the group. "Toriaezu mite miru koto ni suru."(For the time being, I'll just watch.) She said to herself before gripping the roof again.

Sliding her pack to the side She took her pistol out of it's holster and sat it next to her before doing the same with her bat. Checking the door she had previously used to get up to the roof she insured that it was still securely latched before returning her attention back to the group of teens below her. From the looks of it they had found the map she'd left there previously, having made mental notes to herself when making her way through she didn't feel the need to take it with, although as time went on she wished she had, the map made the place feel a lot smaller than it actually was.

Watching on Yui saw as one of the members tripped on something and disappeared below the window, a number of the others crouched down to her aid, looking around Yui saw a few of the dead stumble out of a building, but they'd not taken notice of the group yet. Keeping an eye on the dead for a time she watched as they shambled their way around the building and out of sight. "Karera wa kidzukanakatta"(they didn't notice.) Yui sighed in relief, the last thing she wanted was to see the first living people she'd seen in weeks come to their end before she even got a chance to meet them. Taking a deep breath Yui kept a watchful eye from above, her gear close she was prepared to move if needed, but for now, she waited, and watched.

Terry was falling for Eden and pretty fast at this rate. He enjoyed having her around and getting to know her he could possibly see a future with her but he would have to get through the first date. Hearing that brains were her weakness made him feel at ease and yet he wondered what he was going to bring up during dinner. Seeing Jeanie being clumsy Terry shook his head lightly and he took a few steps forward but it seemed as if Eden and Gwendy were on it. It seemed the agreement was going to the Armory first to get the guns which Terry was nervous as he had never used a gun. Only time he saw one was well when he was playing video games or the airsoft shotgun his older brother had used on him in the past. His eyes drifted to the floor as he remembered the torture he went through with that damn airsoft gun. He broke out of his thoughts as he saw Jeanie fall off the chair and onto a nearby desk because of a rager. Soon enough Gwendy asked if the window would hold and before Jeanie could finish her sentence the window broke. "Great..." said Terry softly yet slightly annoyed. Once Gwendy and Jeanie got the desk set up using them as a blockade. Terry gripped his spear tight as he stabbed a few that were in front of the blockade. "Anyone got any ideas?!" asked Terry to the group as he tried to hold back the dead. 

Seeing the door fly open as she pulled the bar free Yui flinched backwards when she was greeted by the seemingly panicked girl with an axe raised and ready to strike, behind the group she could see what remained of the herd that had made their way in to the building and thankfully after a few shouts the axe girl held back, regaining her composure she tried her best to convey that they needed to leave the area before the rest of the herd approached. The commotion brought on by the group of walkers breaking in was sure to draw more and Yui wasn't about to see the first living people around her age become walker food, not if she could help it anyway.

"Follow.. Or go, Either way.. Leave here." She repeated as she began walking away, turning around she looked the group over trying to judge what they would do, thankfully it seemed that at least a few of them had a brain on their shoulders, seeing as one of the members, a girl with brown hair and fair skin waved the rest to follow. The remains of the herd trying to force their way back out of the building and the rest of them approaching from the distance Yui looked back to the building she had been watching them from. "Follow." She repeated, wasting no time in taking the lead she guided the group the building across the way, up the stairs and too the roof where she had been camped out. Closing the door to the stairwell behind her she looked back to the group, one of them showing their relief of being out of the situation, hearing the girl mention that they should be 'good' now Yui tilted her head for a second not understanding the meaning of her words.

Giving them all a moment to calm down Yui retreated to the other side of the building, choosing to give them space to breath and figuring that they'd approach her when they were ready. A few moments longer her hunch proved to be true as the brunette came to stand behind her. "Thank you." She spoke.

Shifting her weight so she could look to the face the voice belonged to Yui nodded.

"Um... How'd.. How'd you know the door was bared though?" The girl asked.

Deciding to answer truthfully Yui shifted once more. "Because.. I block door.. When explore." Yui answered.

"You did it?" the girl answered, although, something about her tone didn't seem angry, in fact, it sounded almost, understanding. Confused she watched as the brunette took up a seat next to her, careful to keep her weapons on the far side of where the girl had sat she then heard as she introduced herself.

"I'm Eden, Thank you for saving us." Eden said holding out her hand for Yui to shake.

Examining the girls hand for a second Yui returned the gesture and bowed with a little more hesitance than usual, the rest of Eden's group still talking among themselves she waited for Eden to pull her hand away before speak. "Eden." Yui repeated. "Welcome, I.. Um.. Nanida kke..?(What was it..?) Err.. You are welcome." She said in as plain English as she could muster

"Hey, Asian girl!" Donnie shouted from across the way. "Guns! Where are they? I mean, it's a military base. There gotta be some around here, where they at?"

Looking from Donnie to Eden Yui looked to the ground before out over the edge of the roof. "Guns?" She repeated.

"Yea, We came looking for supplies to arm ourselves and protect our group, would you know where they are?" Eden responded, her words a fair bit more kind than Donni's.

"Oh.. Y..Yes.. There." She said, pointing out to a building om the far end of the compound, a worn American flag waving on the flag post she waited for Eden to follow her finger. "There.. Guns.. Ammunition."

Terry just stared at the new girl as she saved them from what could have been their demise and he turned his head as he felt a hand on his shoulder. He smiled at Jeanie and he put a hand on her shoulder. Seeing that her and Gwendy were talking Terry looked at everyone else and he knew as did everyone else they were lucky to be still breathing. Soon everyone was getting introductions out of the way and Terry nodded to the girl as he had already said his name to her. While Jeanie and Gwendy went after Donnie. Troy stayed behind with Eden and the new girl. He walked over to Eden and reached out for her hand as he smiled at her. "I'm glad you are safe." said Terry softly to Eden as he smiled at her. He decided to make his move and gave her a kiss on the cheek. "Let's go-" said Terry before he was cutoff by the sound of Gwendy yelling for Eden. Terry looked at Eden concerned and his mind was racing as he was wondering what situation was happening now. When he reached the others that's when he saw what was concerning. Terry's heart was racing as was his brain. He tried of anything and that's when it hit him.

He took off his bag and then opened it grabbing his water bottle before taking off his green flannel shirt. He then poured the bottle of water all over the shirt and then picked it up it was soaked now. "I remember Mr.Artz our old science teacher told us about dynamite. So that stuff is nitroglycerin and it's extremely unstable. Do you guys know what happens to dynamite when it's been sitting to long? It sweats so what I need to do is get to Donnie and safely wrap my shirt around the stick. I-I just need you guys to get back in case..." said Terry as he stopped himself from saying the rest because the last thing he wanted to do was have Donnie freak out. "Okay Donnie listen to me. I am coming towards you and when I do I need you to be still completely alright. You move when I tell you too." said Terry to Donnie. "Y-Yeah m-man." said Donnie as he was nervous. Terry made his way towards Donnie inch by inch. Meanwhile all he could thing about was Eden and how he wanted to take her out for dinner. Here Donnie was on the verge of life and death and all Terry could think about was Eden.

He made it to Donnie and he held out his shirt. "Now carefully place it in the shirt." said Terry in a slow and calm tone although he was freaking out on the inside. Donnie's hands were slightly shaking and once the dynamite was in the shirt Terry began to slowly wrap it. "Okay...Okay I think you are good now. Run back to the others." said Terry to Donnie who looked at him confused. "What about you?" asked Donnie his voice slightly cracking as he was trying to not get choked up. Terry let out a heavy sigh as he looked to Donnie. "I gotta worry about this now." said Terry softly. Donnie ran back to the others and Terry walked over to the crate that had the dynamite in it. He carefully placed the dynamite soaked shirt back in the box and carefully closed it before joining the others. Once he reached the others he fell to his knees and began to dry heave. He was nearly on death's door twice in a matter of minutes and he risked his life for Donnie of all people. Terry took a moment to catch his breath as he was on his knees trying to calm his nerves.
