Marlene took a round around the clinic making sure all the wounded were taken care of by the medics and lend a helping hand here and there or observed them doing their work. Marlene had to hand it to Claudia, as rough as her daughter's friend was with training people, the discipline she brought upon the soldiers had the desired effect. And Marlene was glad to see the medical training she had taught these people herself had taken the desired effect as well. Including the one of her niece Kinsley, who wasn't in the militia but had been taught to be a medic back in the forest. Kinsley was just finishing up on one of the Wisconsin people, having applied a bandage and a slingbag for the patient's arm to rest in. She then turned to her aunt.
"All good Kinsley?" Marlene asked her niece. "You seem to be doing a good job."
"Thanks auntie!" Kinsley thanked her aunt. "How's Ziggy doing?"
"Still asleep, but she should be waking up soon. Why don't you go sit with her for the time being until Sara or one of the boys arrives? You get along with her right? I'm sure she likes to see a familiar face when she wakes up."
"Okay, I'll do that."
Kinsley then walked over to Ziggy's bed, and looked at the unconscious German girl. Ziggy was still naked underneath and was filthy in some spots, still covered with blood and grime. Kinsley decided to clean it off and grabbed a bowl and filled it water, along with some sponges and towels. Gabby then came over to Ziggy's bed as well.
"Are you going to clean her up?" Gabby asked. "Here, I'll help."
"Yeah, but I'll manage." Kinsley answered. "Say, why don't you go to the arcade and pick up some of her underwear and clothes? Her clothes are all cut up from the operation."
"Okay I'll do that. Think it's open though?"
"I don't know but why don't you go find Kellen? He's stationed at Mal's office. I'm sure he can find out where the key is."
"Will do!"
Gabby left to find Kellen while Kinsley started cleaning up Ziggy. Meanwhile Marlene was approached by Mark, Cassie's fiancé.
"Hey Marlene, Cassie needs help with the girl." Mark said. "The girl's calm now but she seemed to tense up when I entered the room. Maybe something to do with men, I don't know. Can you go check with Cass?"
Marlene nodded. "Alright, I'll go see." she spoke. Then, Gil entered the clinic.
"Alright I need four volunteers to help me move the bodies!" Gil yelled out across the room. Marlene facepalmed; Gil was a good soldier, loyal too, but his lack of tact was legendary.
"Oh that fuckin' idiot..." Marlene sighed. "Mark, can you handle it please?"
Mark nodded, then walked over to Gil and grabbed him by the arm, dragging him outside of the clinic.
"You're a fuckin' moron you know that!?" Mark said to Gil. "Jesus Christ dude!"
"What? What I do?" Gil asked, visibly confused. Mark just sighed and went to handle the situation. Marlene went to the separate room where Cassie was with the girl and entered.
"You asked for me?" Marlene said to Cassie. "How's our patient doing?"
Marlene could see the paper which had 'Odessa' written on it. Since it wasn't written in Ukrainian Cyrillic, Marlene figured it was the girl's name instead of the place she came from. Marlene wondered what was up though.
