Alexandra looked on with pride as the two girls went about doing as she said. She was the opposite of them, she had grown up learning all this and how to navigate Moscow's social circles. Her combat prowess, her survival skills, everything that had kept her alive since, she was taught. A woman in the Russian Army? The tough part wasn't meeting the same standards as the men, or the constant not so subtle suggestions to take up a non-combat role. The tough part was convincing your fellow soldiers you deserved to be there. Convincing them that they didn't need to look out for you, because you were a comrade in arms, not a woman. Once you'd done that, there was no going back. You were one of them, and you watched out for them as much as they watched out for you.
Watching them really relax and let go, doing something girls their age were normally taught to do, put a smile on her face. It was like...teaching them to be teenagers. Alexandra had to admit, having experienced what it was like to be taught to become a soldier, she wasn't so sure if it was harder to teach a young woman to become a soldier, or to teach a soldier to become a civilian again. In these girls' cases, perhaps they were never civilians and were raised to become soldiers. Maybe. They were quick learners though, and just seeing them let their guard down and horse around was an experience like few others she'd experienced.
Justin's voice snapped her out of her thoughts, and she extended her leg out to him without hesitation. As much as she loved teaching the two girls about skincare, she was more than happy to 'redeem her coupon'. She closed her eyes and leaned back, feeling her muscles relax as Justin worked his magic. She was in such a state of bliss that she only managed a very satisfied sounding, "Hmmmm," as a response. It was a moment until she added, "I wish it could stay like this...you know, peaceful?"
