Nodding as he listened to what Alex had to say on the matter Justin kept up his humming in an attempt to calm the now visibly panicked Kelly, From what she said it sounded like she had at least a little bit of experience with the matter, which was something Justin didn't have. Pulling away from his sister Justin pulled her back and looked her in the eyes. "Look at me." he said "You're gonna be fine, We'll figure this out." With those words Justin gave her one more hug and a kiss on the cheek before he got back to his feet and pulled Alex to the side for a moment. "I don't know where to even start with this babe, I want to help her but from the sounds of it you're the one with all the experience with this. She trusts you, please help us through this. For me." He said before placing a kiss on her lips and turning back towards Kelly. "Kel's, I'm gonna go see if Dan has something to help calm your nerves, stay with Alex alright?" With that he leaned down and placed another kiss on his beloved "Keep her talking, it'll help her calm down." With those words he turned and headed towards the house.
Approaching the steps He nodded polity at the girls that were crowded around the steps as he passed and entered the building. "Dan? You around?" he called
From the basement came his answer. "Down here bud." Dan called.
With a worried look Justin headed towards the stairs, pausing for a moment before descending he kept his eyes on the room as it came into view, As it did so did Dan who was right where he left him when he left that same morning. "Hey Dan.." Justin sighed out with the stress that he had bottled up around Alex and Kelly.
"What's up bud? You alright? You look like you've been through a torture session at Mordor."
Coming to sit in a chair that Dan had resting in the corner Justin let his face fall to his hands and dragged them downward with a long exhale "Whatever that fucker did to my girl left her blind in her right eye Dan." He explained.
"Dammit..." Dan spoke under his breath as he approached the man, being the caring man he was Dan rested his hand on Justin's shoulder. "You sure it's gone? Could it be a temporary thing maybe?"
Justin tensed slightly at the mans hand out of habit before relaxing again, "No, Well, I don't know, I know that it's really got her worked up. And when she's upset it upsets me." Justin explained "From what Val told me she took a pretty hefty blow to the head from someone at the camp. The wound on her head proves that much."
"Give it time friend, I'm sure things will work out." Dan said as he walked over to his forge and set his hammer down on the anvil. "You know what you folks need? A happy distraction." Dan said with a cheerful change of tone. "You two ever get a proper wedding reception?" He asked.
Justin turned his gaze to Dan dumbfounded. 'A wedding?' He thought as his hands fell to his lap. "A wedding?" he repeated out loud. "Uh.." Justin pretended to sort through his memory in search of the answer before he shook his head. "No, We got engaged after the end, Lost our rings a while ago. We never got a proper wedding though." Justin explained which caused Dan's eyes to light up. "That's it then!" the man called. "That's what we'll do to brighten everyones spirits, Your old lady get's the weddings I'm sure she's always dreamed of and I'm sure the event will cheer up all your girls." He added.
Justin had to think on it for a time, the sudden idea being thrown at him catching him off guard at first it took a moment to register where the guy was coming from, Justin himself hadn't put much thought into having a reception after he proposed, although he assumed they'd have one sooner or later. After a time of silence as he mulled over the suggestion Justin let a small smile break through the worries look that had overtaken his features. "Alright. That may be exactly what we need." Justin said with a nod.
"Perfect, I'll talk to the misses and get it all set up, Don't tell anyone eh? Now shew, I got planning to do!" Dan said as he quickly ushered Justin out of the seat and up the stairs out of his domain. 'What is he up to?' Justin wondered as he came up the stairs, through the door near the camper he could make out Alex talking to Kelly. They were too far away for him to make out expressions but as the sight filled his vision the worry from before returned. Quickly he shook his head as he saw the girls on the porch looking back at him. "You okay Dude?" The brunette named Clara asked. "Fine, Thank you C-Clara? Just got a lot on my mind." Justin responded polity before turning towards the kitchen.
Entering the kitchen he saw Dan's wife sitting by the window. "Hello ma'am." Justin greeted polity.
"How's your girl?" she asked, her gaze never leaving the view of the old worn down garden through the window, it must have been beautiful in it's prime.
"Whatever they did to her head it seems it's blinded her on her right side." Justin said with a sigh of annoyance at the matter. "You wouldn't happen to have anything I could bring her to calm her nerves?" He asked.
"Calm her nerves?" She repeated back to him as she got to her feet and crossed to the pantry. "I got some tea." she said as she brought out a small tea bag and pointed to a pot of water on the stove that was beginning to bubble. "Was about to make some for myself actually."
A few moments later She poured some of the tea into a coffee cup and handed it to him, after tasting it for the temperature and to also make sure it wasn't bad Justin thanked her and set to return to Alex and Kelly. "Have something for you Kelly, It's warm so be careful." Justin said after waiting for a small break in the girls discussions. Handing her the tea Justin sat down next to Alex and brought his hand to hold her's. "Thank you babe, Whatever you said seems to have worked, at least a little." He said as he noticed the calmer manner Kelly was now carrying herself.
