Ziggy laid in waiting like the others, waiting for Mallory's next order. The city hall was right over the edge of the rooftop of the building they were on, but from their prone position they could only see the roof of the bad guys' headquarters. Being next to Cam, Ziggy could hear Mallory relay her next order clearly and as soon as she heard about a hidden stash of molotovs on the roof they were on, Ziggy started looking around.
As she looked for possible hiding spots, she crawled a bit forward but then stopped when she heard motorcycle engines below, immediately followed by the machine gun firing up again. She heard something that sounded like motorcycles crashing and men yelling out their last screams of pain. But if she wanted to stay hidden herself, she couldn't look up over the edge to see what was going on.
As soon as the machine gun stopped shooting Ziggy crawled forward again to look for anything out of the ordinary on the rooftop. It was then she noticed a couple of loose bricks from an elevator shaft and crawled toward it giving Ayita and Thomas who were behind her a nod. Ziggy removed the few bricks and there it was, one stash of molotovs. She shoved the crate towards her and passed her body, then turned around and crawled back to the others shoving the crate in front of her.
"Got it!" Ziggy said. "Now we wait for the smoke to rise, right?"
Going back into her previous hiding space, it was quiet for a moment, then she heard a few sporadic gunshots and the machine gun firing up for a moment and figured it was probably Mallory's people throwing the smoke grenade. Soon enough, she saw smoke coming over the edge of the rooftop.
"That's it!" Thomas said. "Let's go!"
Getting crouched, Ziggy carefully followed Thomas to the edge of the roof while Brody carried the molotov crate over there. Thomas turned around, he had a plan.
"Alright, you guys each take one firebomb!" Thomas said. "Aim for the windows. Soon as you guys are done, I'll draw that machine gun's fire. Cam, once he's focused on us get ready to tell Mal and the others to move!"
Giving everybody a nod, Thomas waited for them to light the molotovs. Luckily, Ziggy carried her lighter with her so she fired up everyone's firebombs before lighting up her own. As soon as they were all lit, they waited for Thomas to give them the go.
"Alright, now!" Thomas said.
Ziggy aimed for a second, then threw her molotov towards one of the windows. It was a direct hit and seeing it explode right in the window Ziggy did a quick celebration before ducking down again. The people on the receiving end however had less reason to celebrate. Set ablaze, the shooters in the windows screamed in pain and moved around setting some furniture and drapings on fire. Ziggy had done exactly what Mallory hoped they'd do.
After everyone had thrown their molotov, Thomas motioned everyone to get further back. He then blindly shot a salvo near the entrance of city hall, near to where the machine gun was.
"Fuck! They're on the roof! Left side!" one of the enemy's yelled. "Get'em! Get'em!"
The machine gunner aimed the weapon to where Thomas was and started firing. Luckily, Thomas was able to jump clear in time and crawled forward back to the others.
"CAM! TELL MAL TO MOVE!" Thomas yelled. "DO IT NOW!"
At the same time, inside city hall, they were trying to put out the fires but their efforts proved futile. The building consisted mostly of wood from the inside and there hadn't been a fire inspection in a long time. So it would be safe to say it hadn't been up to code in a long time. From the lower floor of the lobby, Everett looked up and shook his head while he readied his gear.
"Gotta love fire!" Everett muttered. Seeing someone trying to get out, Everett shot the man as he was running.
"Nobody fucking leaves!" Everett shouted. "Die by the fire or by my hand, your choice! Let's give these kiddies a warm welcome shall we!?"
Everett cracked his neck while the fearful people inside city hall dared not to move. They rather took their chances with the fire than with Everett. Everett put his mask on and made sure the flamethrower he carried was fueled up and ready. Aside from that, he had an MG42 that could do some major damage as well. As soon as the front defenders on the outside were done for, he was going to give these kids a very hard time.
